Have you read the MWO book? I just read it and feel that it is helpful.
So, for now, pull up a twig and tell us about it. We my flit in and out...and some might be sleeping... but we always listen.

Feel like sh__!!!
Well that's it for me. I can't live that this anymore!!
AF today day one. Been sick for 4 days and still didn't stop drinking.
I had a long heart to heart talk with my husband.. I was really scared to admit how bad it's gotten. He was wonderful, supportive and loving.
I am shakey and sweaty, and scared. I am going cold turkey but worried I was drinking at least 3 bottles of wine a day.
Anyone ? I am scared about DT's, won't go to a doctor too ashamed!!
should I just wean myself gradually, really just want to abstain.
My husband could "measure" and keep track.
Thanks in advance, Gail:new:

Welcome Trying and Newwife!
Congrats on taking the first step or two on your road to recovery. You've even found a great place for your first post! I would suggest though, that each of you create your own thread, so more of the 'seasoned' members can get to know you and help you out.
As most of us here will, I urge you to read the MWO book and familiarize yourself with the program. Many of us here use parts, some members use all aspects of the program.
Gail, depending on how severe your withdrawals are... you may really want to think about involving your doctor. Or, at least make sure that your hubby is close by and can monitor you. Good for you, for confiding in him and receiving his support. It makes SUCH a big difference.
Again... :welcome: and I look forward to getting to know you both a little better.

I need help with learning to either not drink or learn a glass or max of 2 is all I can drink at one time....over the last few months I have had more then a few time of getting wasted...not being able to stop at one or two glasses....I am in the best relationship of my life and I'm extreamly scared of screwing it up because of my drinking....I am so scared of that! So I am looking for help and support in finding my path through this....I have done it before at diffrent time in my life...time to get back to making that a priority....Thanks for letting me join and share your stories and ideas....where do I start?

Thanks for your encouragment and advice. Feel so much better reading the treads, that I am not in this alone. My husband right next to me. No one else knows, except my 10 year daughter. Makes me sick she knows, but caught sneeking wine from the closet. That was the lowest moment for me.
Felling allitle better, still can eat or drink it has to don't do with withdrawls, it's the other illness I had for last 4 days.

Welcome Birddog... you have already started
Your situation sounds exactly like mine! I came here last November... I've had a couple of bouts with alcohol years ago and managed to pull out of it. This time, in a new and fabulous relationship, with the world at my feet, I was totally losing control. After the second time DRUNK (as in can't stand up, fall onto bed, pass out snoring DRUNK) - I mean the 2nd time he saw it - often I had somewhat sobered up by the time he got home, since I started drinking at 9am - and Mr. Wonderful saying that he loved me but was not willing to live with a drunk... I really got scared and decided it was time to seek some help.
Now, it's still work and you're not going to be perfect and rosy overnight. But... I'll be 30 days AF (alcohol free) tomorrow - and if I can do it.. so can you!
Have you read the My Way Out book? Have you decided which route you want to take? Which tools (supplements, medication) you want to utilize?

:welcome:Welcome trying, newwife and birddog! You have found a great place. We are all in this together and you'll find the support here amazing.:welcome:
Hey, Sunny, thanks for holding down the nest so very nicely today.:goodjob: And I hope you know I was joking on the other thread about you getting too smart. I really don't think that's even remotely possible! (again, JOKING!)
Tomorrow is day 30? I am so very happy for you. What an accomplishment. I know it hasn't been easy. I'm proud of you.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Sorry to vent, but am always honest......hope you all have a great day.
