Please may I have a twig? I've been posting mainly in ODAT and 4 days AF, but I could really do with a little company. Three days AF today (for the third consecutive week - going to break through that Day 5 barrier this week!), but feeling a little edgy and alone - didn't go into work today, so have been solo all day which is nice for so long but after a while I begin to crave company ...

Lonely One-:welcome: Congrats on 3 days. Have you checked out the toolbox thread in the Monthly Abstinence section yet? It really helped me when I was struggling to get through those first 2 weeks. Again welcome.

Dragon-Good to see you back. How are you doing? Grandkids can keep you on the go. How old is he?

Sweety-LOL! You have been so up these last few days. Keep it up with the positive thoughts.

SS-I'm waiting for my 6 months before I do the NF thing. You used Chantix didn't you? Would you suggest that over cold turkey. I know theres no magic pill but just wondered if it helped.

Dill-It was in the 70's yesterday. But rain came through and we're back to the 40's I've been going back and forth from my winter closet to my summer closet when getting dressed. We have flood warnings and wind advicerys today. But I do have crocus in bloom and tulips are coming up.

Papa R-I think you made a good decision about G cat. My old diva cat is 12 yrs old and she only tolerates the other 3 cats I have. She would much rather be an only child. The other three were strays people dumped and that's how I ended up with them . Thanks for tucking us in!

Good morning birdlings!

Sooooo busy here, that's why I'm barely around anymore. A couple more months of this and then it'll slow down again - it's the same thing every year.

Lilmea.. I will let you know the DIFFERENCE between doing it with Chantix and cold turkey shortly! LOL I found it VERY easy with Chantix but unfortunately I fell off the wagon about 3 weeks ago, so by next week I'll be white knuckling it. I don't particularly want to go back on meds. My son is on his last pack and after that he promised to quit as well. It's tough right now with cigarettes laying around everywhere.

I'm just thankful that I didn't reach for a drink during that time. Mind you, one way or the other, I'll have to learn to manage stress differently and better (and without the use of nicotine).

Ok, off I go - much to do. If someone could only give me 5 or so more hours in the day, I'd be ever so grateful! Have a great day, all to come!

I have missed you all. I lost my internet connection for 3 days. I made the mistake of hooking up with an old drinking buddy and was very badly behaved. I have been sick for 3 days from it. I fessed up to my sponsor and she is trying to help me. I am taking Emylee to the airport soon. She is going to spend a week with her brother in South Carolina. Day 2 for me, countless times. I will take a seat on the (SAT) stupid ass twig.

Sea, Welcome back! I missed you. I guess you can take a seat on the TOT (time out twig). We really don't have a SAT (stupid ass twig) in the nest anywhere and we wouldn't even consider putting you there if we did! Just another lesson learned for you.

Lil, I never had to quit nicotine, thankfully, but my younger brother, who BTW is the same age as Papa R, did. He went with Chantix and said it really worked well for him. He has been NF for over a year now!

Sunny, I just wonder what you do that has you so busy. Do try to visit more often, I love seeing your smiling face in the nest.

Ohhhh Sea... I was hoping you were just going crazy wardrobe shopping or something similar! Well, Dillie is right... no SAT here (besides, that would have to be one BIG ASS TWIG with the lot of us here! :H). I do hope you are feeling better today. And, you know the drill... pull your socks up and make a leap for that wagon.

Dillie, I have a small web design firm. Winter is my busy time (which suits me perfectly; it means I can go out and play in the dirt and with horsies in the summer!). And, the beginning of the year is especially busy - I figure that advertising budgets come out in January, so there is money to be spent. Come May, it will slow down considerably

Hey Dill :l
I get on when I can to read...my son is still sick...I haven't been to work all week...and I'm one that doesn't do well not being able to "get out" if you know what I mean...I get very antsy and stir crazy and feel very helpless when he feels like this. Finally I got pissed enough at the doctor (which normally I'm pretty mild mannered face to face and/or sober) for not listening to me 2 days ago....my son has gotten sick like this since he was 6 months old....but every doctor thinks he knows what "might be going on". I even carry the file from the specialist, but they look at me like somehow I've offended them...so now 3 days later...I've demanded the chest x-ray be done so we can just confirm the pneumonia and move on....

I wish I had better things to report about my drinking...I'm not getting drunk or anything...you know, I'm not sure it would even be possible anymore??? But it still bothers me I still turn to it to 'cope' when there is stress. I mean when isn't there, right?
Glad to hear everyone is doing well...those who are needing twig to lean on ...you've come to the right place!!
