Skinny... for me, it's the commitment to SOMEONE, I think that makes the difference. I had a deal with renewal a few weeks back and I really had little trouble. Drinking was not an option. I had given my word.

Morning all! Am day 7AF and haven't been here before! I feel great except I'm flipping knackered. The apartment on the ground foor has 4 Jack Russells who were home alone last night and yapped and yapped and yapped. They're nice little dogs, but not so well looked after. I hope whoever is supposed to be looking after them comes back today. I have a social event planned tonight but have decided not to go. I don't feel good about my appearance at the minute, and would usually drink to give me confidence, but DINAO. I'm working on the appearance/self esteem issues and will be able to party AF soon! Have a great day/evening all. B.

P.S sorry I don't often acknowledge you all individually, but I am cheering you all on to succeed. x

Doesn't work like that, though. I'm not kidding when I say I have the will power of a chair cushion. I can get around myself just fine... but I'd feel horrible letting someone else down.

Ya know... I said I'm not counting anymore... and I'm not, really... in fact, I actually have to literally count days on the calendar... but it's day 17 today.... I honestly could not imagine 17 days without a drink just a short while ago. Or 7. Heck, 4 was impossible. So... what I'm saying is (and this goes back to a discussion on another thread yesterday) - we all make progress at different speeds... It took me 2 months to 'get it'... and in the meantime I felt welcome and understood and even 'coddled' and for that I will be forever thankful.

My Mom is still here visiting so that has made it easy. I was supposed to take her home yesterday, but she decided to stay another day. I'm taking her home today and driving by my two favorite stores. Not gonna stop ...not gonno stop...rum is poison rum is poison.

Drank a ton of water last night, behaved myself, feel good about that.
Still can't figure out why I have had a "sinus infection" since before christmas, despite antibiotics. Maybe I developed a new allergy? Has anyone had allergy-like symptoms from taking the Kudzu, GABA or any vitamins?

I feel like I should look and feel much better than if I drank every night!!!:H

I plan to go to an AA meeting. I went to 2 meetings yesterday; gotta do my taxes, ugh...fill out some forms for assistance, and follow up some job leads, Busy Day and AINAO-Seacailin=MWO Resident Nun

Sun, except for the drink tracker I've more or less stopped counting days. I want to know when I've made it to my first month but I don't want it to be my GOAL. I want it to be the first in many goals. Does that make since?

UNG-Are you antibiotics the right strength? My daughter got a sinus infection that would go away and it ended up the doc had to increase the strenght of her antibiotics. Listen since I stopped drinking I think I should look younger, thinner,and richer but alas that hasn't happened yet! But at least I do look sober which is much better than how I looked drunk!

Really liked the first meeting because the group was not too large and we were focusing on our powerlessness over alcohol. But it is when we finally admit defeat, that we win. It was good, just what I needed to hear, cuz, I got that built in forgetter, that tells me all those "crazy" things, like...awww....you can just have 2, yeah right. Second meeting was a large crowd, great speakers, but I felt kind of lost.

I'm so glad you are trying to get some face to face support. That kind of support can really make a difference. Have you managed to get a list of all the meetings available in your area? That way you can zero in on the smaller meetings if that's what you feel more comfortable with. Also I know AA offers women meetings. Don't mean to sound gender bias here but women do have there own special issues. (no offensive florida boy!) As with most things, I guess you will have shop around alittle till you find your fit. Keep strong. you're doing this.
