Thanks. I'm on the internet for now. Goodness knows for how long tho. They keep cutting me off and cannot tell me why. Quit day has started early. I have no more wine and have been drinking cold water. Last ciggie will be gone in a matter of seconds. Pretty suitable actually, since it will be midnight when it runs out. Yep there it goes. I am feeling pretty panicky actually. No crutches left. Thankfully sleep time soon and then I have to get through tomorrow.

Hi panicked. Just here to lend some moral support! It will be rough but many of us have gotten through it and SO CAN YOU!!! Every uncomfortable moment you spend now just gets you that much closer to freedom from these addictions. So HANG TOUGH OK?

                Thinking of you,

                  This will end my marriage

I just read all of this thread. Hang in there, girlie. I think the hardest thing for me to deal with was realizing why I was drinking- and it was to fill the void in my life my bf left- he wasn't loving me- the WINE was. So I left him- and the wine hasn't loved me since- I HAVE. Therefore- no more wine.

But the topa has left me tingly which I'm dealing with a bit now- just hang in there...we are here if you need us...it is a struggle and I'm still dealing with it every day.

                    Practice make perfect

May I just ask 1st when U say problems with feet do U mean swelling or an irritating nerve ending thing that can sometimes happen, kinda like your feet are asleep. I used to get that feeling a a former employers office.

In addition, I read a thread in MWO saying Topamax caused one member to have a severe headache. One of the other products made the person very sick (but some AL was a factor).

I am curious because before I try any of the products they have on MWO, I'd like to know more about them. (I am asthmatic & allergic to pollens, hay, straws & a no. of things etc.). (I just moved to the area I am in and doctor r not accepting new patients).

In addition, MWO just e-mailed me yesterday to offer a free bottle of Zudzu Rescue Herbal extract and the book MWO (download) but I would have to subscribe to the MWO Subcriber forum. $9.95 /mth I thnk and I would assume that is US $.

And I checked out some of the packages they have and the product line seems fairly pricey since I live I Canada. I'm still researching.

That being said, I am in the mist of trying the tracking scenario.

Hi. Day two without wine. I did look longingly at the bottle shop last night, but did not buy any. Can't say the same for the ciggies. Went for nearly 22 hours without one and bought a packet. Will keep trying.

Panicked WELL DONE on the wine! Stay clear of it you will feel so much better soon. The ciggies can wait, sometimes its too much to do it all together.

                          This will end my marriage

Good job panicked! I agree with startingover that trying to quit both addictions at the same time can be too much. If alcohol is creating the biggest problems in your life, then make it your number 1 priority to NOT DRINK.

Have you found the toolbox yet in the monthly abstinence section? If not, check it out for some helpful ideas and good reading. Here is a link: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html

I don't mean to minimize the nastiness of nicotine. Many of us have quit both. Some quit both at the same time - I personally quit them separately. That's a personal decision. The important thing is to quit them! These early days without alcohol can be difficult. Hang in there! Success means never having to do these early days again.

                            panicked,
Good job on 2 days. The first few days are alittle rough until all the AL gets out of your system. Once I got through 3 & 4 it really did get better.

Ditto on what Start and DG said. I've decided to wait until I get 6 mnth before I quit smoking. I'm hoping that I can use what i learn to stay AF to help me stay NF. Plus it will be warm weather so I can be outside more.

Also do check out the toolbox. I've been here 3 weeks and finially went to it yesterday. People had told me to check it out but-dug-sometimes I'm slow. I am finding it to be a great tool.

                              This will end my marriage

Hi. Bumped into an old friend today who invited me around. The first thing she offered me was a glass of wine and I'm pleased to say I said, no thanks, I don't drink anymore. Then the car broke down. Luckily I got it started because I would have been tempted to then say yes to the glass of wine. All the while tho, I was thinking, no, don't do it.
