    Does anyone else do this?

Oh i love the idea for a funeral for wine. I too can picture it! All of us in black, pouring with rain, bending over mourning for the 'wine'.

Don't think I could do it with wine, but we do have Spirits and Beer in the house and they don't call to me.

Gyco - my parents used to make wine, they bottled one batch too early and the corks all blew - we had a white cat that was pink and a little unsteady on its feet for a while.....

Lil.Michelle - whatever works for you!

I have done this before myself. My personal feeling is that you know it is THERE....don't have to panic if you get that feeling of wanting to drink.....when you know the feeling has passed...you know you can do It....then you say goodbye one day at at a time. Although costly.....think of how much YOU are worth staying sober.I am still new at this as well....and just posted asking questions....asking for advise. We know we want sobriety, and this is a GREAT place to start.A previous forum helped me become coke free.I used this in lieu of AA.I don't discourage anyone from AA,it just wasn't for me.....I do encourage ANYTHING that works for each individual. We are all the same(AL)....but are all different in so many other ways.KEEP your head up! think of the bottles going down as a way of you comming UP! an investment well spent.YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!!!!! Happy V-Day! LUV-Fallin

IAD, for me, smoking is a LOT harder to give up. A LOT! This is my 12th day AF and 58 hours NF. With drinking I count the days. With smoking I count the hours. I made the Choice. Sticking to it is the hard part when your body is crying out for it.
            Feb 04 2009 80 days AF.
            AF May 23 09 to July 09
            AF December 16, 09 FORWARD.

I've never smoked but i do find thatit's really hard to give drinking up. I find how amazing it was that for every little thing there would be an excuse to drink.
Nojust that but here in the UK it's really just drumed into you that you need to drink, that drink is soooo important. Every soap is set around pub, every house shows people drinking, even the simpsons, frasier ect ect. So given up is hard when it's ALWAYS thrown in your face.
When it comes to smoking... it's not really anywhere on tv so it's not really drumed into you 24/7.

GYCO- That was such a sweet msg. I'm a little lady. Only 5'2 and slim. I am a little crazy. I think in a way being crazy keeps me sane *lol*
              Love you ALL!!!
