Liath, you can only do this for yourself, no-one else. Your dad will have to do it for himself too.
I went thru what you did, three weeks ago, shame like you wouldn't believe. It struck me then that I can't go out anymore and drink like there's no tomorrow, after 25 years of doing so.
My husband is a heavy drinker and I can only hope that I can show him that it can be done.
Do it for yourself first, and we can only hope that maybe, just maybe they will follow. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
You need to get well first before you can help others.
