Thanks for the detailled explanation, Panicked! I only heard this term. the last few days which is strange for someone who wanted to be a meteorologist!!

Thanks also about my dog. He actually had a cancerous tumour about 3 years ago but I believe we "helped" him with diet, etc.

Having spent a lot of time living in humid climates, I can safely say I don't enjoy it one iota unless my only exertion is moving around the pool!

Ah, a pool. Wish I had one. But, I do have the sea. Not too sure about the sea at the moment tho. Crocodile sightings although none trapped yet to prove they are here.

I just had the strangest experience. I went down to the supermarket to pick up a few supplies and ran into a friend I haven't seen for ages, although we spoke on the phone 4 weeks ago. She just looked through me. I stopped and was about to say something when her husband spoke up.

She had a migraine and lost her memory. She doesn't remember anything after 1986. They're heading to the city tomorrow for tests.

I began to think I'd said something to offend last time we spoke. If her husband hadn't been with her I would never have known. She really had no idea who I was. She thinks her kids are still children.

I gave her a hug and told her she did know me, but perhaps that was a silly thing to do, because to her I am a stranger. I've never heard of anything happening like that.

I'm on Day 21 AF today. About to watch Days of Our Lives (yeah I know) and then take the dogs to the beach for a swim. Maybe then I'll be able to stop this mad craving for nicotine. Been off the smokes for 12 days.

great idea...I only just logged on but usually will come & look for this thread earlier. I love the Army thread but everyone's usually in beddie bies by the time I'm on...Anyhoo, I'm a Sinney girl...but living in NZ at the moment. The temps here are lovely in Summer...28-29 at the highest (I always chuckle when they say on the weather "it was a sweltering 29 today")

Hi hi, just popping in from Singapore to say hello! I'm having people over for pancakes tonight - being Shrove Tuesday n all. I have to make some in advance though because although my pancakes aree definitely the best in Sinvegas, I'm really really slow. I have 3 dogswho sit patiently for the bits that drop off when my flipping gets too ambitious! Maybe check in later. B xx
