Thanks for the welcome folks, thanks to the kind word have made it through day 1, going to bed now, suspect I won't sleep all that well but the painting by numbers has really caught my fancy, wonder do they do sort of grown up ones? Anyway, thanks again and talk tomorrow.

Hey there, everybody,
I haven't posted recently in this thread, but I'm still out here, a part of you all. Didn't make it yesterday... I WILL make it today, though. (I think.) My usual method of madness is to think about something for a while, before jumping in. I am definitely planning on a serious attempt at a Day 4.... sometime very soon. Good luck everyone!

I'll join in here. Just started today. I am absolutely insistent on going at least a week to get through the withdrawals and hopefully further. But, I'm a guy lookin' forward to that 4th day just the same.

This is the first time I trying to actually quit on my own accord. It will be an accomplishment to make me smile.

One thing I wonder though, because it's happened to me in the past. When you first have that event that drives you to quit it's a very serious thing. But then when you slip, you get back up and try again. As a newbie, I wonder if some of you have gotten into the habit of trying and messing up, trying and then messing up, etc. Is it really moreso a matter of gradually pushing for yourself toward better moderation?

And I know the feeling of determination to quit when you've overdone it and then live with the consequence the next few days. Isn't it funny that once you're feeling strong and healthy again, the prospect of drinking doesn't seem so bad? That happens to me with smoking. I'll get a cough and insist to myself that I'm gonna quit. But once I'm breathing well again, a cig sounds yummy and I'm right back at it.

Has anybody every tried to make a contest out of these attempts? Or, would that not be such a good idea? If I was feeling that another person was not only doing it for themselves, but that they were also doing it thinking I was doing my best to make it through--it might make me try a bit harder to really give it a go... hmmm

My day 4 too , is this supposed to be the hard one ? just from what I have read on previous posts.

I do wonder if when I have done the AF period if I will be able to drink again like a normal person. I have already turned down a night out on Saturday as I dont think I can trust myself yet.

My big worry is that I go on holiday in 2 weeks just for a week but that would usually involve drinking day and night

Day 3 here. Day 2 kind of snuck up on me! I was actually thinking about drinking... and then "forgot" about it??

You're tempting me to try it... And they have some pretty cheap ones (have to see if it includes the paints). I have NO place to hang anything, though (in case it would turn out good). Hmmm. Can't imagine giving as gift - would be kind of weird. Put friend on spot!

Good morning guys,
Day 3 for me and it pouring here in Florida wow!! we need this rain!
Molly: I bought the paint by number at Micheals Craft it was only $ 4.00 .. not too big , but OMG its not easy ..!! very tiny number , have to mix paint , I can only do like a little bit in a couples of hours ! Its really is harder that it looks.. but I can wait to have one finish...I'm sure my next one will look better !!! Savon try it we can all compare our master piece lol
Cake queen I also said no to a fun girls night today , because I don't want to be around it right now...
ok have to get to work..big day today! not a bad week this week... later everyone..

Oh dear decastille - I was going to go to Michaels this morning (after gym!) to see if they have any paint by number kits... but now you're Scaring me! Mainly due to the "small numbers" part. My eyes have gotten really bad!

Well, I guess I can go see what they have - or maybe something else will catch my fancy. I don't have much patience! I need to see results rather quickly or I lose interest. (NOT good!)

Yes, a dreary, rainy day (but not pouring here in Tampa). We DO need the rain Badly.

Hi Savon19 to answer your question about the quantity that I was drinking it was about a 750 ml sometimes less I used to try and save some for the following mornning until it was a sensible enough hour to go buy more as for not been able to walk , I think i just got used to it , I used to drink it over the course of the day and night and always in pepsi max my partner has no idea how much I was drinking I used to re fill old bottles with the new stuff even with water and have another one hidden

but no more I am so pleased i have got to today

Cake - I don't mean this judgmentally, but that is a LOT (even for ME -- and I can drink a lot!!).

You should be VERY proud of yourself! You sound like you've got a handle on it.

Today is Day 4 for me. And I'm not feeling very strong... I do have to go to SPCA from 11-2 today... so that will help, BUT. Not sure.

I started this thread - am now wondering if I'll be here Forever??!!

I know you dont and yes it is a lot to drink but spread continuously over the day and night I seeemd to unfortunatley manage it no more though, fingers crossed its my day 5 today andyes I would love a drink but I dare not even try one I,m trying to keep busy and my house has never been as clean lol

Hey decast (getting lazy about yr name - trying to think of how to shorten - lol!)...

I went to "my" Michaels yesterday - they said only the SUPER Michaels have "paint by number". Figgers. There's one or two - but not that close.

After today, you'll have Graduated from this thread. We may have to have Ceremony!!

And I think I'm most proud of Cakey. Really awesome!!

Savon--It's my day 4 too....stay strong!!!! You (we) can do it!!! This is hard...trust me, I know!!! My son is gone...it's Saturday night...I could drink alone...or go out with the girls or go to my parents and get drunk for free....but I am working on my plan for the day and am going to stick to it...I will be sticking close to the computer...if you want to chat ANYTIME....I'll be here and checking in often just let me know :hug:
We're in this together....let's graduate from day 4 together and celebrate tomorrow!!! (by moving our marker to a week!!)
