    Jump In June

    Good morning June Jumpers,

Waking up to more clouds & fog here today - oh well. I'm still determined to make it a good day
My son talked me into doing some dog sitting this week and will be dropping off his 2 Goldens shortly. It's always a thrill having 4 dogs in the house, never a dull moment.

Glad you're hanging in Sooty, it's worth it, honestly.

Dill, your quote is perfect - 'I will create no more pain for myself'. Something to remember always.

    Have a great day everyone!

It's Monday! The start of a new week. I hope everyone is doing well.

Today I had a first. I was thinking about how nice it would be some day to have a glass of wine and a warm bath after a stressful day. My mind lingered there and suddenly without my conscious control and all on its own, it then fast forwareded to what would probably really happen: One wouldn't quite do it, I'd have another, I'd start sneaking yet several more, I'd lose control of my falculties, I'd pass out early, I'd wake up in the wee hours sick and anxious and full of remorse, I'd get up the next morning hung over and depressed. My mind did that quickly and almost reflexively. "Would it really be worth all that?", my mind asked. That has never happened to me before.

Maybe I should just have the hot bath.
        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

          Good Afternoon Jumps,

I've been having a few cravings lately so I hope you don't mind if I jump in midmonth for a little support. I've been dieting and I know that's where the cravings are really coming from. Because I'm hungry. The good news is, they are very mild and very fleeting and not very often. Not like in the beginning at all.

Dill-Way to go girl!! It appears that you are starting to change your old thinking patterns. I've read on here time and again where the not drinking is the easy part, it's changing the way we think about drinking that's the hard part. That was pretty hard for me to beleive that first month AF!! But now I know how true it is. Keep up the good work!

            Hello gang!!
It's a new week and a new beginning. Sadly, I was not terribly successful this past weekend. Too many people around, moving jobs, daughter in town, etc etc etc. But I am NOT throwing in the towel for the rest of the month. I will give it my best shot to stay AF - darn weekends!!!! I do have an event that I am travelling to at the end of the month, at which I expect I will drink some beer, but until then, I really want to avoid wine. There is none in my house, although who knows how long that will last with my girl at home.

Glad to hear your mind set is changing Dill. What a great feeling that must be. Enjoying your summer holidays so far??
Lilmea - for sure it is the dieting that is making you crave. I know whenever I have gone on diets, by day two or three, all I want is to drink. That empty stomach thing.
SD - busy girl??? When you getting your computer hooked up???
Lavande - you are going to be living in a looney bin with four dogs, aren't you?!?!?! Have some fun with it!!!
Sooty - good for you for getting back on that old wagon. Where do you live in the UK where you are close to the cliffs?? South?

My son is doing his first final today and will be writing them all week. Next week is the graduation ceremony and then the boy is free!!!! He really is looking forward to it all. I'm sure he'll go back to school some day, but for now, just wants to work and save up for some world travelling. Good plan!!!

By the way, the weather has improved here finally, so maybe i will have veggies in my garden afterall. It was almost +30C yesterday and again today - glad to be in my air conditioned building, as my house gets really hot. The only problem now is, I have a really hard time running in the heat. ALthough the cool weather was a drag, it was so great for training. I'm not sure what I will do now!!!

OK - very busy in my lab today - baked 22 loaves of bread and I can't stand the smell of it (crazy i know, but it would be like working every day in a chocolate factory - I'm sure the smell would get to you eventually!!)

Hey CS - I work in a Wheat Quality screening lab. Finally test for bread wheat quality is to actually bake it!!! I will soon be finished scoring it and will cut a bunch up for all the people around here to have a snack! They do appreciate it, but i can't eat any of it!!!!
How you doing today? AF Monday for you???

Yeah, AF Monday today. But it's witching hour, a beautiful day, and beer in the fridge.... However, also in the fridge is lemon fizzy water, so that is what I will pop open right now.

hi all, I'm still here hanging on in June. Could have murdered a drink when my daughter came in earlier hostile and worse the wear for alcohol. But thankfully the moment passed and I'm off to bed now.

                          Frank Sinatra
                          Song: That's Life

That's life, that's what all the people say.
                          You're riding high in April,
                          Shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune,
When I'm back on top, back on top in June.

I said that's life, and as funny as it may seem
                          Some people get their kicks,
                          Stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down,
'Cause this fine ol' world it keeps spinning around

                          I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
                          A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
                          And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself, flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.

                          That's life
                          I tell ya, I can't deny it,
                          I thought of quitting baby,
But my heart just ain't gonna buy it.
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try,
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly

                          I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
                          A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
                          And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself laying flat on my face,
I just pick myself up and get back in the race

                          That's life
                          That's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cutting out
But my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothing shakin' come this here july
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die
                          My, My

Note from Tulipe - have to say I don't like the last line... Guess he ran out of things that rhyme with July.

                            Hi Everybody!

Sooty, It's great to be waking up hangover-free, isn't it? I'm glad you are with us!

SD, I am so glad you checked in! I missed you! I know how chaotic a move can be, but you are on the down hill slope now. ointup:

Hi, CS04, glad you stopped in! If you want to go for AF Tuesday, to add to your af Monday, I hope you'll stop in again later! :cheering: This is a pretty supportive crew, going for the best 30 days in June that we can get!

Pnut, I'm glad you are not letting your "not terribly successful" weekend knock you out of the race! Keep your eye on the finish line, gal! You'll be glad you did. When I was young, I used to think that when you lost a race, especially really bad, and people would say to have completed it was in itself a triumph, that they were just 'being nice'. But now, I see that it wasn't just words. To be out there trying IS a form of winning! :crowned: Congrats on your son! Is this your last to get through school? I'm glad you weather is improving. It has been fantastic weather here of late. If you get veggies out, let me know what kind. We have snow peas, tomatoes, green beans, 4 kinds of peppers, potatoes, corn and egg plant. Mr. Dill does the lion's share of the work. I'm his assistant. It is "hay season" and we have some of our hay down. It should get raked and baled today, so I am hoping that the thundershowers miss us!

Lilmea, You know I am always always happy to see you! Join our thread as often as you like to fight those cravings! I am POSITIVE your diet is at the root of it. I tried to diet in May. Didn't work out too well for me! Don't you think it's funny that 'crave' and 'cave' are the exact same word except for one letter? I don't know why, stuff like that just pops into my mind.

Lavande, FOUR DOGS?!! :eekmonkey:Yiikes! You will get the WOS award if you get through that without drinking! (Will of Steel Award)

Hey, KTAB, Firefox and anyone else that stops by! Keep on jumpin'! :jumpin:
