    Day 27!

    Hello all,

Today is my 27th day AF. Sunday will be the big 3-0 for me.

I'm celebrating by taking my 12 year old son on a 14 mile hike to a local 4000ft+ mountain. The views from the peak are beautiful and the calm is palpable - it's truly a humbling experience. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my new life.

Thank you for all your support. This website is a life-saver.

    Staying strong,
    --Steve

                    Day 27!

Fair play to you, sounds like a terrific idea. What a lovely way to spend Day 30. I know spending time like that with my son really helps me stay focused on whats important in my life and it sure aint picking up the next drink. Hope you both enjoy your day, you really deserve it, well done.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

I have followed your progress on here as well. Its truly been a joy to see you find your happiness away from drinking, you are an inspiration like many others on here.

Job well done! I hope you have a wonderful time spent with your son. Children are true blessings, and the best gift you can give to your son is your sobriety.

                        Day 27!

                        Hey Steve,

I was just wondering... What was your turning point? What was it that made it work this time? Im always intrigued when someone has great success in quiting drinking cold turkey. I also have two male friends, both former alcoholics, and both were able to just one day stop, and never pick up a drink again. I wish I had that kind of power, whatever it is. I am still struggling after all this time.

Im happy for you! Would love to hear what worked for you this time.

                        Love,
