thanks so much, guys. Your support means a lot!

Baclofen isn't here yet ... winging it with supps, vitamins, healthy food -- and a brief period of 'low stress'! had a big deadline last Friday -- nearly missed it with all the drinking and hand-wringing! 'sheesh!

so far, so good. will keep ya posted!

Glad you are managing to wing it with supps, etc. for now.

Re: the drinking and driving - I think the point has been made, but it happens at least every 6 months here. Headline in the paper today was about 4 teenagers killed over the weekend by guy driving on wrong side of the road. He lived. He is described as "a really nice guy" - just as all of us are nice people. The number of lives ruined when you count all the family members f the kids and him is staggering.

Aw, Louise, it truly is staggering the loss of life, companionship, friendship, potential grandchildren ... all because of drinking then driving.

BTW made it 42 hrs, then got home last night and ripped into AL. SHIT!!!

Today feel like I should feel. ... lowlier than low.

Will get it together ... life is too precious, and my family is too good (except for a few)

            BTW: NOT drinking then driving

scared straight. Thanks to this board, am managing to get thru the day.
Evenings at home are another matter, tho. it's progress, after a fashion. Not as fast as I'd hoped.

Puddy, big congratulations on your 42 hours - wow! Very nice. Don't you be feeling lowly about your 'step back' last night... Progress is normally not a straight line .. there are twists and turns and steps backward as well as forward. You did GREAT. And now you know you can! ... and you will build on that. Well done!

Please don't beat yourself up - it can lead to more drinking. You are making progress.

HAHAHA! I watched that video. Would you believe that New Port Richey is not far from me? Lots of rednecks there for sure (LOL).

I think the craziest thing I ever did while getting a DUI was kept begging the cop to just take me home, Oh and keep taking off my handcuffs. He would put them on, I would take them off (I have small wrists).

                      Good one, Gears!

OverIt, I had to laugh at your "taking off the handcuffs" story! :H I can just imagine the cop's frustration.

                        If I might ask...

Puddy, How is it that you know you are having trouble finding jobs due to the DUI? Do you drive by occupation? I only ask because I got a DUI 12 years ago and am having a hard time finding work. I wonder if that might be an explanation?

Weird, this is a theme or something. My handcuffs came off, I handed them to the officer when we got to the place where I had to do my breath test, I just told him that they had come off and I apologized, we kind of laughed about it and he didn't put them back on me for the remainder of the time I spent in his custody. He was really nice about it actually.

I think he felt sorry for me or something. Maybe it was because I was really compliant and polite too, I don't know.

Wow Scrubby, you must have of had a really nice cop for that. It also sounds like you were being a good cooperative drunk too!

Wow ... my handcuffs were on too tight -- weren't no bangle bracelets! (and by all accounts, I've got really thin wrists too) But I was docile and cooperative ... crying like a dork.
