    Hate myself for drinking

Thanks Popeye. I love going to bed sober. There's nothing like it as far as I am concerned. No matter what else I may have done right or wrong during the day, it all seems so much better with a clear head. I have an immense sense of satisfaction that comes with making a positive choice for myself to not destroy my liver and other vital organs.
Hang in there Ann. We can all do this and improve the quality of our lives. Just give yourself the gift of not drinking. The more we show ourselves how strong we are the more we will build up our self esteem. Just like drinking tears down our self esteem, making the choice not to builds it back up.
It feels so good to not be alone in this.

      Hate myself for drinking

      Hi Gearhead,
I can relate - DH is out of town, I was late taking my Campral, and that bottle of wine beckoned and next thing I knew it was empty. I guess I gotta start over. I still fee better today than I did 2 weeks ago because at least it was one night not every day. But I do feel worse today than I felt yesterday, for sure. Not proud of it. Want to stay sharp, not foggy.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.

        Hate myself for drinking

        Hi, All

I REALLY, REALLY (can't overstate it) want to encourage you to make the most out of MWO. Less than a month ago, I was in a deep, dark hole and didn't care if I lived or died.

Since then, things have turned around for me, and it can for everyone here. I KNOW it is a hellishly difficult journey, but hell, if I can do it, so can anyone else.

But you need to WANT it enough, and you need to do it for YOURSELF.

There is a fantastic thread called the Toolbox: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html

I encourage you to read through it, and also make your own posts to get advice and encouragement.

I also found that posting my goals in a thread of my own helped me to make a personal commitment and to take responsibility.

This is all advice I got from other members on MWO - I came here totally clueless, not even sure if I wanted to do something about my alcoholism...

Be strong - you can do it!!!
        I'll do whatever it takes

Seems like "Hate Myself for Loving You" is the perfect song for alcoholism! Just struck me as ironic.
