    July Jamboree

Hey gang - Happy Friday! I think I will go home and go to sleep after work today. I am so freakin' tired and scared that this infection may have moved up to my kidneys!!! Oh please, not that!!!
Dill - I think I will go see the Star Trek movie tonight. I've been wanting too since it came to town. I love the original series. Used to watch it all the time - that handsome James T Kirk!!! I guess William Shatner is not making an appearance in this new movie, is he?!
Have a great weekend everybody! Best to you all in meeting your goals!

      Hi Everyone
I had a great night last night, we all went to a real soccer match - the first for me
Perth Glory were playing Wolverhampton Wandrers, although I thought the game was boring as I am not a soccer fan but the crowd were great and my boys loved it.
Dill im glad you enjoyed your film
Peanut - take it easy and rest, I hope you feel better soon
Well im off to a friends house tonight for dinner and they are big drinkers but I am going to be the driver as they live an hour and a half drive away so then I know I will stay A/F tonight.
I hope you all have a great Saturday

        Morning all,

Clear-headed and hangover free here too. As for the weather, well, accept what you can't change, right! I applaud your driving plan, Ronnie, but 1.5 hrs - geez that's halfway across England! Sorry you're under the weather Peanut. I'm also a trekkie, so thanks for the summary, Dill. We'll see if I can fit that in this weekend. First I'm off to explore an obscure part of south London to retrieve a DHL package as can't be bothered to wait for redelivery next week. It may well take me 1,5 hrs each way - Ronnie, you fancy a drive? Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.

I would like to be in on this as well..but feel I'm just not ready. I have ordered the book and want to read it first and fully prepare myself. I feel as if I am putting off the moment when I moderate or abstain. However I am so looking ofrward to that good feeling !

            Good morning July jammers!

Opal, your sister's not kidding - the weather here in the Philly area has been uncharacteristically nice for this time of year. Usually July is so hot and humid.
Pnut, hope you are feeling better, takes a few days for antibiotics to realy kick in.....
Ronnie, I'm not a sports fan either but a day out is always nice, especially for the kids
Pamina, good luck on you mail adventure today - hope you find you package.
Welcome Timpin, we're just a nice bunch of people here supporting each other thru the month of July. Let us know if you need anything, OK?
Not sure yet what I'm doing today but it will be AF.
            Have a great weekend everyone!!
            AF since 03/26/09
            NF since 05/19/09

                Hi Everyone
I hope everyone has had a great weekend
My meal with my friends was lovely and I did,nt even crave for a drink and on the way home I got pulled over by the police for a breath test, this was the first time I have ever done one and when I drove off I had a great big grin on my face as I knew I would be OK on the test.
I must admit I felt really proud of myself at that moment
                Have a great Sunday

                  Good morning Jammers,

                  Overcast but hangover free here!!
Did a ton of outdoor work yesterday, now I'm sitting here with itchy red bumps on my neck & arm, eeewwwwww
Ronnie - good for you. Passing a breathalyzer test has to be quite an affirmation for you!! You should be very, very proud.
Hi Opal, glad your weekend has gone well. Here's to a fabulous AF week ahead.
                  Have a great day everyone!
                  AF since 03/26/09

                    Morning All,
Ronnie - what a great story!!! What a relief too. First time I ever went out and stayed AF, driving friends home, I was laughing, saying "bring on the coppers now!!!" Felt really good. I never have had to do a breathalizer test though.

Bed early for me last night and I am up and supposed to go for a 20km run this morning. I will go, but I am having a problem with hives!!! My lip is swollen and my eye. I think I am allergic to yeast build-up in my digestive tract, and most likely since being on anitobiotics, I have become unblanaced and the yeast has taken over my GI tract again. This has been building up the last couple of days, but now I look positively goofy!!! I'll let my friend run ahead of me!!

Lavande - are you have an allergic reaction?? Or are the itchy bumps scrapes and scratches??
OK - everyone else to come, have a super sunday!! THe sun is finally shining here again!
                    xoxo peanut

                      Hi, Jammers,

I'm back from my weekend in Southern Ohio. It's a hilly part of the state and the roads are narrow and winding. The cell phone works about half the time. I felt like I was really roughing it! :H

Ronnie, what a great moment! A small triumph to be sure!

Lav, what caused the itchy red bumps? Mosquitos? Poison Ivy? I tell ya! It's getting so it's no fun to be out in the garden anymore! I wear long pant and ankle socks and I STILL get chigger bites! I'm about to give up on yard work!

Pnut, That's awful about the hives! I bet it is related to the antibiotic, like you suggested. When I have to take antibiotic I, too am prone to yeast infections. Sorry you looked "goofy"....Did your friends let you play with them anyway?!:H

cyntree, I'm glad you liked the guided meditation link.

Hi Opal and Pamina! Hope you each had good weekends.

                      timpin :welcome:

Well, the family weekend was fun. Drinking was not an issue. I was offered a beer but said no thanks, I just wanted ice water. No one else seemed to want beer either. But, boy, did we ever eat!!! Good food!!
                      Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                          AF Day 2

Wonderful to read the news of everyone all over the world. Here in Arizona we set a record for heat on this date - 115 degrees....which is why I probably am loving the hypnosis subliminal ocean sounds, and the trickling stream. Usually the only thing we think about water here is how not to waste it!

Dill - that meditation has really stuck with me, and I've thought about it alot today. I was feeling so yucky yesterday that I wasn't sure I would get hopeful again, even though taking the steps to getting back going on the program again (started once about a year ago), but the meditation really gave me some confidence.

To all - congrats on every moment!! Good night from the desert -- C:thanks:

Hi Jammers! It's a lovely morning here in Ohio, starting out at a cool 61 degrees F and beautiful sun. We got about two inches of rain over the weekend while we were away. I was so sorry to miss seeing it. It was very much needed!

Cyntree, I know what you mean about that meditation. I found it at a time when I needed very much to calm my mind and change my thinking. It was helpful. Good job on 2 days!:goodjob:
Hi Ronnie and Opal! Good job Opal on the 30 days!:goodjob: Thanks for mentioning it, Ronnie!

Here is a quote I would like to share (shared it elsewhere on the boards a couple of weeks ago, so if you read on the Monthly Abstinence board you may have already seen it):

                              The Final Analysis
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered.
                              Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish or ulterior motives.
                              Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies.
                              Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.
                              Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight.
                              Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous.
                              Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow.
                              Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may just not be enough.
Give the world the best you have anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it's all between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway!

                              Mother Teresa

                              And, we
can add: If you decide to be AF, it may sometimes be difficult. Be AF anyway!

Hope you all have a great day!
                              Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.
