      Morning Jammers,

Overcast here, wouldn't mind going back to bed, my dogs have!!

Pamina, hope your stay in the kingdom is 'magical'. Your friends must be talented gardeners - a grape vine in London? That's very cool! Hope you do get a bit of sunshine this weekend

Ronnie, how well I remember those sleepovers with the kids. I especially remember the one where we had no choice but to return a child to her home at 1:30 am - poor thing just couldn't cope with being away from home!

Opal, hope your day is going well!

Dill, so sorry about yesterday. I agree with Opal, don't waste a minute of your time, just jump right back on the wagon! Have you been able to identify the trigger that caused you to drink? I think about the triggers on my list all the time and do everything I can to avoid them. For me, that includes avoiding certain people (relatives). I know I appear to be somewhat selfish to some people these days, but that's the way it has to be. It's important to me to not keep repeating the same mistake......... Make today a better day for you And stay away from those chiggers - you don't need that aggravation!

      Wishing everyone a great day!

hi jammers, i had a big birthday on tuesday so had a few drinks and will have some more tomorrow cos I've got another celebration with friends then, but apart from that I'm jamming right along. Had some internet probs so not been on line much.
Hope you'll put up with my intermittent jamming - i'm not regarding these 2 events as slips as they are planned and I have no intentions of drinking in between.
Good job everyone, hope to talk again soon

Lav, I don't think there was an external trigger. I think it was just me losing my resolve. I did that conversation in my head that convinced me that I absolutely would be able to just drink one glass and stop. And, perhaps I would have if Mr. Dill had come home at the expected time. But, he didn't, so I had more time than I expected and so I thought, I'd just have one more...Well, that turned into much more.

Ugh. OK, I'm done talking about it now.

I'm all hot and sweaty from working on the fences. I'm going to cool off with a big glass of ice water.

Hi Sooty! I was wondering where you'd gone! Glad to see you.

Dill and anyone else that may be interested.......

I found this older article on dieting today that help us out here: "Maintaining your Resolve by Regulating your Mood, Energy Levels - and life" by Barbara Harris, May 2003 issue of Shape.
Maintain your resolve: by regulating your mood, energy levels?and life - Director's Letter | Shape | Find Articles at BNET

Maintaining your resolve (in any effort) is difficult, to say the least but vital to your overall success. I don't see why we can't apply the same principles to our situation here.

                      Hi Opal
Hi Sooty, hope you're doing OK with the modding.

                            Hi everyone
                            Welcome greenhouse & nora
Well I am doing great Day 17 here, although I am tired today but that is down to my son haveing his friend stay the night last night.......
I just could'nt relax, so I think an early night for me tonight.......
I just thought I would throw out a question here for anyone...
Who is hopping to abstain and who is hopping to mod, and if you are hopping to mod. then how long are you going A/F for before modding?
I am just interested or noisy one of the two.....

I am abstaining, as I tried to mod my drinking but I could see myself going back to my old ways, and I also found that I did'nt enjoy drinking anymore, I did go 30 days A/F before I tried to mod.

There that me, what about you....

                              Good morning Jammers,

Ronnie & Opal, my plan is to stay AF because I know myself - modding just isn't possible for me! I found that once I accepted the fact that I just cannot drink, life became much easier. There's no more thinking or wondering about AL. It's just not an option for me anymore. Believe it or not, you really can live very nicely without AL. It's a no brainer for me these days. I relish the freedom from the hangovers, the worrying about what I did or said last night, etc.................

                              That's my 2 cents

                              Have a great AF Friday!

The truth is that I'm saying that I'm going Alcohol Free but I can feel deep down in the back of my mind that maybe in a few months a few years, I'll be different. So, I have to say AF because I know the way I am and the thinking that I can just MOD is not a possibility.
