Mary Jane,
:welcome:
MWO was my first and is my only forum, so I vividly recall when I first started logging here.
Why don't you tell us a bit about what is going on and what you would like to achieve?
There are many caring people here to help.

Nice to meet you, Mary J. You have found a great website .. there are so many of us here struggling with ALcohol, not to mention anxiety, depression, etc. .. When you have some time, read through the different message boards a bit ... Lots of stories and ideas, things to try, supplements, strategies, meds ... so many paths to try. And that's the key - try. If one thing doesn't work, there's always something else.
Looking forward to seeing you on the boards!AF for two years. Slight relapse. Working on it at the moment.

H Mary Jane
Welcome, if you start hanging around this site, you will become proficient with posting and uploading pictures and all kinds of other "stuff" you never knew before.
Isolating ourselves is a common theme I think. Also presenting a good face to the world while we drink alone.
I hope you return and get all the benefit you can from this site. It's a god send for so many of us.

Good Morning Mary Jane,
That's the name of my sister in law in the UK... what a coincidence!
Lonliness and depression love to accompany us at times. It is so debilitating. Just getting out of the house has been an effort for me at times, and yeah, I put on the smiley face too.
Do you have any friends or interest group where you will not be by yourself all the time?
You've stopped drinking for two days, so that is a wonderful start. All you need to do is to turn around some of the ingrained thinking and habits; and if you are gentle and patient with yourself, things will start changing for you. But if you haven't already, go and see about the blood pressure so that it will be one less thing to worry about.
Don't worry about not being any good on the computer. Nor am I. I just plod along and ask for help here. There are so many people able to help in so many ways at MWO, all you have to do is type a thread..
I too was widowed (wonderful person, didn't drink, very kind and gentle) so I understand a little of what you are going through.
You'll get a lot of support from the people here, including anything technical you want to know about winding your way round the site, uploading, downloading, and probably sideloading too! TRhat you are not familiar with computers doesn't matter.... you got to this site, and that's the main thing.

Hi Mary Jane,
You are not alone. Many of us here wear our masks of capability and happiness, and have hidden in our bottles at home. You have made a great first step in reaching out. You will find a lot of support here.Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.
