The method I'm using right now is to cut down VERY slowly. I don't drink wine, but beer; all the same though, it's alcohol.
Don't beat yourself up for having a bottle of wine today. Just plan again to defeat this demon again tomorrow or the next day. DO NOT beat yourself up; you are not a weak person for doing so.
We're here for you.
BTW, like I said, I'm still drinking, but tapering off slowly (down to about 50/60 percent of what I was drinking on a regular basis).
My addiction is so bad that it has affected my physical abilities to walk, exercise, and such. Today, for the first time I did a small workout and actually am beginning to regain my physical strength. I know the pain of withdrawal, and perhaps worse, the pain of depression and complete boredom from not drinking.
You hang in there, you WILL be alright. You went an entire two weeks without alcohol. Just consider this a little dip. The trend is that you are on the right path; one little stumble is not a problem.
((((Hugs))))
