Live or Die - My Choice

VeniceBeach - I'm on day 7 as well. Congrats to you. It feels great to me. Sparrow - you're right. We don't need this wine - it does nothing for us but make us feel bad in the long run. Heck - who knows - maybe I'll lose a few pounds too. I have so much energy during the day.

:welcome: to all you newbies!! It is great to see you posting and feeling so optimistic.

I just wanted to add that by the end of 10 days, you will all be amazed at how good you feel, how much better you are starting to sleep and how life suddenly looks good again.

Thank all of you for sharing and for being here.

          Sparrow,
What a great inspirational post. I too after many many years just said what's the point. But it took almost 3 years in MWO, and some medical tests to get to that point. But how good is it!! For me it was a hard road till I turned around my thinking patterns. And I'd been drinking hard from age 20 to 59
But after just 5 days not drinking, what a change in perspective, sleep pattern, general well bveing. I'm not here to preach, just to say take bite size achievable goals and you'll get there.

            Welcome Goldie Girl,
Come on in the waters lovely. This site has been a godsend. On day 20 Alcohol free. I've found the chat room invaluable. No-one judges you. You can ask questions without feeling stupid. Can't offer much advice cos I'm learning all the time.

              Goldie Girl...:welcome:
So glad to see you here and I hope that you find what you need to beat the nasty alcohol. I'm your age and drinking a bottle of wine was no problem for me ...in fact it was usually 1 1/2 bottles! Geeeeze!! Every night? I had to stop. My life was no longer happy like it was before I started drinking. I've slipped a few times ( my start date was July 15)...like 3 days...but on the positive side I've had 12 alcohol free days since July 15 and for me, that's great. I have to take it one day at a time and I find that the ODAT thread is so wonerful and helpful to me. It's here on 'Just Starting Out'. We check in everyday with eachother. You may like it.
I wish you all the best in this struggle but remember that you are in good company here.
              See you around the boards!
              Love
