    14 Days AF

    Hi Everyone...

I reached a milestone today..14 days alcohol free and proud of myself ! By writing this I hope to encourage others that going without drink can be done..if I can do it..well I reckon just about anyone ought to be able to achieve the same. I have drunk for over thirty years and only had a few free alcohol days in all of that time. When you wake up with an aching body every morning and you can't remember what you said or did the previous night, it's time to take control of your life ! The first few days I found it hard to get to sleep, but after that I have enjoyed wonderful sleep patterns and now wake totally refreshed and feeling really great.I weighed just over sixteen stone and seem to be losing weight at the rate of around a pound a day ! In the last fourteen days, I have stayed in hotels on five occasions and even in the bar, I can drink water and soda drinks without being tempted by the alcohol. Just occasionally a voice in my head tells me to reward myself with a drink, but it wouldn't be a reward, just a major dissapointment. I have had lots of help to get me to this stage.Reading My Way Out as well as now taking Kudzu Recovery and L Glucamine. The cravings have virtually dissappeared. I hope this helps just one other person to have a go at getting off booze.

Good for you!!! You sound so happy and pleased with yourself, and yes - this is a great reminder that it can be done!!!! I have been struggling somewhat lately, but have done 30days AF a couple of times, and really felt good, so why shouldn't I be able to do it again!! Right????

So thanks Timpin for the encouraging post! I am going to pull out my supply of Kudzu and L-Glut right now and take some before the thoughts start taking over. I don't want to drink anything for the rest of the month - I KNOW THIS - but something always changes by the end of the day. So tired of it.
