    Hi Bob. I hope the new day finds you ready to get to work on your sobriety. You CAN get sober and while life's problems don't magically go away, it is much easier to deal with them out from under the fog of AL and addiction.

      Hi Bob, hope you are feeling better today. You can and must get sober, as I have, you have so much to gain and so much to lose. I never thought that I could stop drinking and I had been drinking so much longer than you, so if I can do it so can you. Take all the help and good advice that is on offer, see your doctor, go to AA, I found it so helpful, I go to meetings as often as I can, in fact I feel AA and MWO have saved my life.

              PC, How are you feeling today? Are you trying to ween off or go cold turkey? It might be a good idea to see a doctor? Your are NOT a bad person. There is a lot of support here. I think we all start off pretty damaged and broken when the booze brings us to our knees. Hang in there!

                Feel like crap !

                Gold, I Think I get what what you saying but how do I show compassion/understanding for something I didn't have anything to do with!
                The actions/choices that my parents made have hardened/sheltered my heart and feelings!
                And for most of my life I have hiding from this in AL.

                I wan't to be a whole man! That mabey she could fall in love with again.
                I LOVE her!!!

                  Bob, I can feel your pain.

                  What crossed my mind is that your wife will have a lot more respect for you if you quit drinking. If she could talk to you when you're sober and in control, she'll probably see that man she fell in love with...

                  Believe me, I know how hard it is to quit and how easy it is to "hide" feelings in alcohol.

                  Try posting on the ODAT thread (one day at a time).

                  There's a lot of inspiration on this site. Keep reading...

                    Bob, my heart aches for you. I pray for you and your family - you CAN find the strength - I can hear your desire to beat this thing in your words. The people here are wonderful. I am struggling as well and have found that this place helps me when I am at my weakes. Trust that you CAN do this, visualize what your life will be like alcohol free. It is amazing. Not that I am a good one to give advice, but together with all our friends here, we can beat this beast. Your life will turn around Bob, it really will. Your wife and kids are worth it...AND YOU ARE WORTH IT!!! It is hard as hell, but the payoff is worth it. Please keep us all posted.

                      Bob I want to tell you that you are not alone. I can see that you are in a bad place but there is light at the end of that dark tunnel. I know it probably doesnt seem like it right now but it is there no matter how dim it seems. You have achieved the first important steps toward it, now take the next step and day 2 AF. There are a lot of people here who wish you well and will be here for you to take your hand on this rocky path. You have to get yourself well and the rest of your life will follow.

                          BUT YOU DID IT!! The solution to the problems in your life will NOT be found in the bottle, that's for sure. If you can hang in there for one day, I believe in you - you can do it today too.

                              I feel your pain, for I too had a beautiful wife and 2 beautiful daughters.

                              I fear I will never get them back, thanks for that alcohol.
