      Sad Day

Your kindness today has helped so very much. When I first came here I had never posted anything, anywhere in my life. If I had not discovered you, found some courage, and started following the MWO process, I would be drinking right now, sad, angry, and alone, and looking forward to more of the same tomorrow. Thank you for helping me find my way, one day at a time. Getting through a bad day or a great day undiminished is certainly an experience I shall treasure. Thank you, thank you. Love, Ladybird.
      may we be well

I'm so very sorry and feel for you! Some people may not get it, but losing a pet IS losing family. Very happy to hear that you will not drown your sorrow!

Ladybird that is heartbreaking. He sounds like he was a great character and of course will leave a big hole behind.
You are doing the right thing not drinking over this and allowing yourself time to grieve.
Sending love and strength to you.

It sounds like he had a marvelous last day. We should all be so lucky. And not drinking because of his passing is the best honor you can show him. good for you

                Ladybird!

One thing that always upsets me is how when we loose a dear pet, that it is never considered a 'big enough' grief to warrant sympathy from some people! I am glad to see that so many of the people in MWO are not those types!

My sister and I used to volunteer for CALM and as such we raised three Twenty-Eight Parrots (Aust). They were beautiful, but when we got them they didn't have feathers yet and were VERY ugly! we got up during the night to feed them and eventually whenever they heard the mircowave beep, they would sing out knowing their dinner was coming lol!

They lived for ages and now all three have since died, but they were a big part of our lives!I understand your loss and feel for you,let yourelf grieve like you would for any loved one!

                    Hello Ladybird
I am sorry for your loss- a pet is definitely 'family'.
And I agree- a lovely way to honor him is to feel the feelings and not drink over his passing.
                    Take care

I'm sooo sorry for you loss.
You had a really test today and you past with flying colours. You understand how it wouldn't help and you were strong enough to deal with you feelings and not numb them.
You are a very strong person and you are doing great!
I am sooo sorry that this has happened to your bird. I know what it's like to lose an animal that you love soo much, it's like losing a part of you, almost a close friend or family member. My thoughts are with you.

                              Sad Day

I didn't know parrots could do any of such things. I have only seen kind of woebegone birds in pet shops and a neglected bird in a gardening store supposedly to amuse customers. What an amazing difference love and attention makes! It is obvious your birds had that in great amounts. Congrats on honoring your love by not drinking, and anyway like someone said above, 1000 drinks would not be enough.
