August All Stars - week 4

Wakey, wakey all you twinkly Stars,

It is so good to wake up hangover free and ready to start another af day.

I bought a small notebook/laptop to take with me on my trip. We're going to be gone 3 weeks and I was starting to panic at the the thought of "internet withdrawal"!

Today I'm getting a manicure and a pedicure! With my new haircut, I'm just going to be the "cat's meow". :H

I payed for the baby puter and everything else with the money I've saved this last month from not drinking. Sometimes I think we forget about the finacial rewards of being af. So don't forget to reward yourself sometimes with some of that money you've saved by not drinking!

I'm not going to have time to ride the bike trail this morning. That means I have to drag out the old dreadmill for my moring exercise so I guess I had better get off of here and get started.

I here Lil.......just getting ready to get out. We have an appointment this morning to appeal the outrageous school tax that's been dumped on us! We've paid the $25 application fee and $400 for an independent property appraisal - they had better reduce our tax bill..................

Hi, Stars. Good for you, Lil, it is indeed fun to make purchases with the money saved from not buying the sauce and you are going to be beautiful on your holiday. For me it has been acupuncture and massage, a pair of pricey long skinny jeans and a beautiful silk charmeuse blouse (I habitually drank a lot!). I trust your efforts will pay off, Lav, assessments can really be off the mark. Saint Jackie, you are doing very well in this world too. Have a good day all, off for early (horrors) work. Afternoon all Stars, internet playing up again that's why I'm late.
Dill great news of your brother - excellent so pleased for you.
Lil - well done saving that money for a notebook you'll be able to keep in touch with us at all times!
Dill - Rescue Remedy is essence of various flowers distilled in brandy and you put 4 drops on your tongue or in a glass of water and sip - its excellent and has stood me in good stead when I've had difficult situations to face before. I have advised my daughter to use it before her exams next week.
Dr Bach's remedies - see if you can find them on the internet if you're interested. I've heard of calms forte they're sleeping tablets aren't they?
Anyway no cravings so far - off out for tea with friends so talk later. Hope everyone feeling strong.

Hi All Stars! I'm just getting home from a good day's work. The students are so much fun! The teacher had a rock painting activity planned for today. Those preschoolers threw themselves into it with all their preschool enthusiasm! Great fun. I really have a great job, for the most part.

Now, off to the kitchen to make some dinner. Hope you all are feeling fine!

LHB-Actually, I'm afraid I did too. But, sometimes, just seeing how much it cost me in $$$ still surprises me. Yikes!!

Lav-Good luck with the property tax. I paid too much in property tax for years. So frustrating.

JC-Have you tried fried green tomatoes. Yummie.

Sooty-I've never heard of Rescue Remedy. Does it seem to help with the sugar cravings as well?

Sunni-How's it going with your house? Are you still thinking of selling?

Dill-You sound like you have a great job. Children that age can truly be inspiring.

Lav I hope you have some joy with your tax bill - you deserve it.
Lil I think Rescue Rem does help with sugar cravings - it just sort of calms you down - dunno how it works but lots of my friends here swear by it. Use it before driving tests, interviews, exams etc. I sort of figure that it can't do any harm ....
I went on to the website and they've got a stronger one now called Recovery Remedy so I'll try that when I can find it.

Any special plans for the weekend? We're expecting more wet weather here (of course) so we're just gonna take it as it comes. The yard looks like a giant jungle, so lush & overgrown. Is it possible that S.E. PA is turning into a brand new Rain Forest? ha ha.

Morning Stars! Yikes, nevermind, it's afternoon already! :H

Weather is overcast and cool, Lav... NOT what I ordered, dammit. Gonna write a complaint, I think!

Horsey stuff and hopefully bringing my daughter and her b/f up for a Sunday sleep over, that's about all on my agenda. But, that should keep me busy and outta trouble

Dillie... sounds like great fun! I used to run a home daycare.. those little ones were so much fun!

Yep, Lil.. my property will go up for sale.. hopefully by Mid-September. Have someone working on some repairs, etc next week and then will head down myself again to do more. *sigh* I just want this over with.

Sooty, I tried the calms forte.. I really don't think it did anything for me all!

August All Stars - week 4

Afternoon Everyone,

Late getting here today. Doing laundry and starting to pack for our trip. We're taking 3 weeks and heading out west. The Gateway Arch, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Mesa Verde and back through the Rocky Mountains on the way home. These are the 5 major stops but I also have a lot of other places to stop if we have time. It's a little hard to judge distances on a Cal. map when I'm use to judging distances on an Indiana map. For some reason I have a feeling things are farther a part than what they appear.

My dryer is buzzing so off to do more packing. I'll check in with everyone later.
