August All Stars - week 4

Good morning (here), Stars. Very busy day with house, kitchen, and yard as a hard work week is coming up. Actually a hard work month is coming up but all sorts of people have “emergent situations” as it is my last month before I quit everything except very part time. Scary for me. I am going to have three days in the middle for a flight to the Brandywine Valley in Delaware and hopefully a walk in a garden and a nap. I have not been sleeping well at all. I am glad to be making it through my AF August. I did not remotely think it was possible for me. Thank you. Love, Ladybird.

I have lots of new, exciting things going on, especially with my grandson. What a joy it is , with a clear head, to watch him grow! He's 9 months old now and a bundle of fun!

I'm going to take advantage of this dry, sunny morning and get some outside chores done.

Thank U all for the support!
I think (hope!) I broke a couple of ribs on Friday. I say 'hope' because otherwise it's a bigger problem. I have a lot of pain on the right upper quad of abdomen.

I will keep my appt with doctor tomorrow. Plan to print the baclofen dosing schedule and try to educate.

This has to stop!!!!!

Evening All Stars, quiet on here today. Hope everyone has had a good Sunday. I had a little craving driving home from visiting a friend this evening but its passed now and I'm feeling ok again.
Have to be alert at all times.
Well its 9.45 p.m. and the weekend is almost finished. We've had the most dreadful day weather wise and everyone I know is really miserable and depressed about it - and the prospect for next week isn't much better.
But we're all bright and cheerful on here aren't we?

Good Evening All Stars,

I got tired of waiting for it to be time to leave so we left today. There is something wrong with my router on my puyer at home so I couldn't get on this morning. I'll deal with all that when I get home. For now it's all good.

Lav-9 months is such a great age. Grandchildren are a great joy.

Sooty-Good for you busting on through the cravings. They really only last briefly. And it really does get easier the more AF time you have. I'm ready for a Sept. to Remember too.

LHB-Sounds like you will have a lot less stress once you go part time. I never sleep through the night. I'mafraidTeba-Glad to see you back. that does have more to do with my age than anything else.Excercising has helped some.

Teba-Maybe you should talk to your Doc about your ribs. At least he can tell you exactly what's wrong. Alot of folks are on the baclofen and are having good luck with it. You might also want to check out the Meds section. I think there are a couple of threads there about baclofen. Hang in there. It will get better.

Wally-Keep on keepin on.

I don't know how much internet access I'm goinh to have but I'm in for Sept.and will check in when I can. Lets keep that sober bus rolling a long!

Hi everyone!!

It's been a while, but I'm back!! Must get back on the boat, and will need the support of all you great peeps. Not a great August for me - too much holiday, visiting, etc. But tomorrow, I am starting the WildRose Detox (once again) and cannot drink on it, so will supplement the herbals with Kudzu and L-Glut - I have a feeling I will need all the help I can get. But I always have looked forward to September, for fresh starts (although I don't look forward to the impending doom of the deep freeze!)

So I'll be joining you on the September to Remember AF thread for sure!!!

Hi Lil, hope your trip goes well, sounds like fun. Just decided I'm going to sew a monkey costume for my grandson for Halloween. He'll be 11 months by then - I think it's going to suit his personality

My day was good, had some more grandson time, what more could I ask for?

Morning All Stars - go glad to be taking the bus through to September. Last night was tough but I got thru it so feel stronger today.
What do they say about if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger? We'd better apply that to ourselves immediately.

Well, we're here on this last day of the month. August really flew by for me Personally, I feel stronger, a bit more confident in my ability to stay true to myself & goals. BUT, not cocky because I know that I could lose it all in a flash & I won't let that happen!

WooHoo August All Stars! Some of us may have had a detour here or there along the way, but we made it and we're still hanging in there!

Pnut-Welcome back. Grab a seat on board the sober bus. It's a great ride.

Sooty-The saying "no pain, no gain" Just think how strong you're getting. Keep on flexing those sober muscles.

Lav-The halloween outfit sounds cute. I don't have any grand kids yet. (sigh) You're lucky. Does he live close to you?

LHB-Are you out of town for over night or will you be home tonight? You are sounding strong and all revved up for another sober month.

This notebook puter I'm using has a little bitty keyboard! And the little ittybitty touchpad has been an adventure. I'm glad to have it though. I'm ready for a Sept. to Remember so all aboard the sober bus!!!

Hey Lil. I am glad you are connected for your travels, your continuing support has helped me immeasurably. Looks like the August AF thread is ending very quietly. I am glad that I participated. When I came to MYO I had been drinking at least a third of a bottle of strong spirits every evening for many, many years. Having a month with no alcohol is something that I could never have anticipated. I had a couple of very bad days this month and I am particularly encouraged that I did not drink over them. I hope everybody who came along on this thread for however long it helped finds a healthy and happy way out of what ails us all. While I may never sign on for another month as counting days for me can bring up other ways of thinking that are not good for me personally, I remember that it was quite exciting for the usually reclusive me to head off in a big group. I may get to change my ?mood? one of these days as I gain social courage. Peace and love, Ladybird.
