    A 7.5 day pact

    Happy Friday!

On to day #3. Yesterday was tough. i had to go to the grocery store and stood in the wine aisle for about 15 minutes....very tempted! But did not cave!

Today I still have wine on the brain! I did 5 days AF last week and I really didn't feel like drinking, even when I did have a glass of wine last Friday. So, I wonder what's so different about this week?

    How's everyone else doing?

Must be this week, Heart... I've been having 'thoughts' too.
Mind over matter, though. Glad you didn't cave - way to go!

This sounds so good. I think this as good a place to start as anywhere and will count my 7.5 from today, the 28th. See you soon.

It is Friday... And it is Day 6, for me! YAAAAY!!

Sorry to be such an obnoxious attention hog. Also, I must give credit where credit is due. This site, and reading everyone's posts as well as some nice folks in chat were a great help.
                  Thank you, everyone!!

This pact has really helped me. They had a Friday night wine tasting at the market, but I didn't go in. The wine tasting would be fine, it is the popping open a bottle after I get home that is the problem. Day 9 drawing to a close. Thank you everyone.

                          A 7.5 day pact

Hi, all, I hope you are still here with me. Today is Day 10 (and I think day 5 of the 7.5 day pact). I wonder if the real progress is marked when you stop needing to keep count?

I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure today as a little reward. It is getting easier and the cravings are briefer and less intense (like you said they would get, sunshine). I'm adding supplements gradually rather than all at once to minimize or identify side effects. I've been taking the Kudzu and regular multivitamins/vitamin C from the beginning, but just started GABA today. I think the crippling exhaustion of last week is starting to abate as well. From what I read, that may have been more due to tapering off the Prozac. But all is well, it is a beautiful day, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Well done on Day 10,I am Day 8 and so I am truelly chuffed with myself for getting that week under my belt and now I can say I am into week 2!!!Yay
I am just on Vit C ;Fish Oil tabs;Glutamine;and Olive Leaf Extract..not doing much else, but having plenty of warm water with lemon..I really like this for some odd reason and green tea! And yes I am feeling really good now too. Had a bit of a moment yesterday with a strong craviing at about 4pm..would say it was a 7/10 craving, but managed to push it aside. Downed a whole bottle of water with lemon and then lost the urge for the drink! Now the thought of beating my previous record of 8 days AF will not even mean I allow a thought of alcohol in my head today!!!
                            Hugs

                              Hi all,
Hope you're still all doing well. I have my ma down this weekend so can't post as much. I have a new plan though, which I'd love you to help me with. I have decided I need a visual reminder of all the crap that alcoholism brings.

So I have an empty vodka bottle and I have started writing words on it to remind me exactly what it represents. So far I have: Shame, Guilt, Sickness, Lying and Missing Out - what else might I write on it to remind me not to lapse?

                              Thanks guys.
