September to Remember - Week 4
Home from work, finally, and glad of it. I am sitting here in my quiet house trying to calm my nerves. Work was not bad or anything, it's just sometimes the activity level in a preschool gets to me.
I have kind of a hodgepodge going in the crockpot. I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to do with my stew beef, so I just put it in there and started throwing in this & that. It's smelling really good and I'm getting pretty hungry.
Later!Dill

September to Remember - Week 4
Evening Sept. friends,
Where did everyone go Dill? It's just the two of us??
That's OK and I love my crockpot............ I get that thing going in the morning before I descend down to my shop and I know dinner will always be good!
Spending all day, every day around a herd of preschoolers would test my nerves too Dill! I love kids, I really do but I prefer them one at a time I think some quiet meditation time is in order just to soothe your nerves, you deserve it!
Well, I wish everyone a peaceful night!

Super tired here, very long, hard work day, catch up tomorrow. Crockpot stories sound like Fall; there are wood fires burning around here tonight as the temperatures drop. Thank you for your support; the PMs warmed me. I am on the sober path, just face down. Love from your droopy friend, Ladybird.may we be well

What we plant in the soil of contemplation, we shall reap in the harvest of action. -Meister Eckhart
Good morning, friends. Welcome back, Masai! It has been ages!! Good to see you.
Sooty, how does one get their HB to iron? I haven't managed that one yet!:H
LBH, I hope you lift your face back up once again today. I sure can relate to your feelings.
Lav, I use my crock pot often. I seem to have more energy in the morning and by the time I get home from work, I am usually frazzled. It's a relief to have dinner ready and waiting, that's for sure. How's the embroidery business going? I hope you are very busy.
Hey Lil, I know you're coming by soon!
I have been struggling with attitude lately. It sounds like maybe I'm not the only one. I'm feeling very distant from family and friends and am feeling isolated, though I am not. "This too shall pass." I will try to get engaged in some fun activities this weekend to see if I can become re-charged.
Hey everyone, Have a good Friday! Hey ho, it's off to work I go!Dill

September to Remember - Week 4
Good Morning Friends,
Maasai-Welcome back. We haven't met before but I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.
Sooty-Hubby ironing! I would like to see a picture of that. I just can't seem to get my HB to see the challenge in learning new skills such as ironing. :H
Lav-How did it go with the plumber and the dentist yesterday? No bad news there I hope.
LHB-I hope you're getting lots of rest during this busy time. Will things be slowing down for you anytime soon?
Dill-Maybe part of this attitude has to do with the seasonal change? What with the shorter, gloomy days with less sunshine. I know the changing of seasons has tended to cause me problems. I'm just not quit sure why? I hope this is a more peaceful day for you.
One of the first things I did when I got home was clean and put new food in my hummingbird feeders. I figured the little guys were already gone but did it just in case. This morning I saw a straggler out there eating. So even though it's still rainy here, seeing that little bird gave me a lift to start my day.
Hoping everyone a good day.AF since 7/26/2009

September to Remember - Week 4
Good morning friends,
TGIF! We've been promised more seasonable weather today, I would appreciate it, that's for sure!
Welcome back Maasai, good to see you again. How are you doing?
Sooty, my husband has been ironing his own shirts for many, many years. I never had the time or interest for it, told him he either irons them himself or takes them somewhere to be done!! Ironing is such a boring job..........
LBH, hope you had a good rest! I always seem to need extra sleep as the seasons change
Dill, I'm not as busy as I think I should be but am learning to not worry so much. I'm putting my spare time to good use
The attitude struggles come & go with me all the time. I also feel very distanced from family & friends, for a lot of different reasons. It annoys me that I never get support from any of them when I have gone out of my way to help them out in the past. I can't help but wonder if & why they are all so selfish. That kind of thinking really gets me down. I have to consciously put the brakes on and turn my thinking in a completely different direction. I know that I have to help myself & not hope or expect anyone else to come to my rescue. It's true Dill, 'This too shall pass'. The art of distraction is a wonderful thing. Tomorrow, for example, I'm going to the 'Apple Festival' in a nearby town. A simple but effective distraction
Hope everyone has a great Friday, I'll be back later.

September to Remember - Week 4
I am one of those people who get overtired and then can’t sleep, so after wandering around in my brain all night I am feeling completely depleted. That’s OK actually as now the cycle will work itself out since thank goodness I didn’t drink. I had three of the four Hungry, Angry, Tired, and Lonely conditions after work so I poured out what was left of the expensive bottle of spirits I fell into on Tuesday so as not to have a repeat performance. I knew I could not be trusted.
I shall head out and refill the hummingbird feeders, Lil. I shall think about something positive. And Hi, Maasai, beautiful name, beautiful image.
Let’s all work on this attitude thing as it arises. A small shift can make such a big difference. I am in your corner. Love, Ladybird.may we be well

September to Remember - Week 4
Hi peeps!
Been a while since I've posted, but I haven't been doing that great, and I hate being such a negative nelly!!!! It is a sad day here - had to put my old cat down this morning at the Vet - over 20yo and the last couple of days have been hard just watching him. It was time. We buried him in the back of my flower garden and I painted a big rock for him with his name and placed it out there.
On a brighter note, we also had my new gas oven installed this morning. I should really go to work for the afternoon, but I have kitchen organizing to do and it is so beautiful and sunny outside, I think I will just stay home and see what I can get done - go play in the perrenial flower garden and just be near my old cat.
So greetings to you all, Dill, Lav, Sooty, LBH, Jackie, Maasai, SD (wherever she is!) and everyone else to come - glad you are all doing ok. I have an appt with my doctor next week to see if I can work out some strategies to get me to stop being a wine-o once and for all!!!!!
xoxo peanut

Pnut, ditto what ladybird said! I wish you would post more, too. Believe me, we are all in the same boat!!! I understand your loss of your feline friend. I, too, just lost one of mine. He was 17 yrs. It seems that when it rains, it pours, eh?Dill

September to Remember - Week 4
New and Inspired
Hi everyone
I am new here and although I joined the site over 10 days ago, it has taken me some time to find the courage to say 'hi'.
I have always felt such denial, coupled with shame about my alcohol dependence that it has taken me a long time to 'own it'. So here I am and I have been so inspired by all of you. Your honest openness and willingness to share and help others is really humbling. Thank you.
I have been drinking since I was a kid 16ish. And this is the first time in 30yrs I have not had a drink for more than 2 days, I can proudly say that with the the help of you all and this site, and self believe I am at day 13 AF!!
My partner and I are doing this together which helps too.
I am a kiwi living in Sydney and loving it.
Thanks again to you all and I look forward to chatting with you all as we climb this Mount Everest together.
:thanks:
