September to Remember - Week 4

    Good Morning Septembers,

Lav-Have fun with the dogsetting. I've watched my daughters dogs a few times. It wasn't too bad but my 4 cats hated it!

LBH-Good for you talking to Mr. Goodheart. This is a hard thing we are trying to do. All support is welcomed. I, too, had anxiety attacks at the beginning. I actually take samE and a vit B complex. It has seemed to help.

Dill-I'm thinking about taking L glut for sugar cravings. How much to you take?

Sooty-I know you will be along soon.

I've been having trouble with my computor/printer and have spent the morning fooling with that. Everything seems to be running ok for now. I'm headed outside for a little while. This is the first day it hasn't rained in a week.

    I'll check in later.

September to Remember - Week 4

Hello Dill, Lav, Lil and all to come. Sunday evening rapidly approaching here, going to make evening meal and settle down to some tv.
Glad to see you all, you make this old Sooty very happy.
LBH well done for asking LordBH for help - I complain about Mr Sooty a lot of the time but he does his best to understand my need to do things in excess - he being a man of moderation in all things. How did we ever get together I ask myself??????
Lav good luck with the dogs - is it like grandchildren - we're always glad to see them and pleased to hand them back too!
Lil well done for getting your computer fixed I wouldn't know where to start.
Dill well done on the plan - sometimes when I'm feeling lost I make a timetable for the day, breaking it down into half hours and it does help.
Where is that Chicken haven't seen her today.
Hope everyone has a restful sunday.
        take care gang

September to Remember - Week 4

My goodness, what a beautiful evening! The air feels cool and clean and the sun is bright in the western sky.

Lil, I just take the l-glut in the afternoons, but the recommendation on the jar is 2 tablets 3 times a day. The tablets are 500mg each. I took some today at noon and again at 4:00. I wonder if it might just help on sugar cravings, because I made some home made apple dumplings today and I have no desire to eat them!! They look and smell delicious, too.

Sooty, I can totally see how sitting down and breaking the time down would help. Do you do it on paper or just in your head? You say Mr. S. is a man of moderation in all things? Hmm. I say you are a match made in heaven then!!

I'm following Sooty's lead and settling in for the evening.

Thanks for all your support today, friends. I felt it.:h

And strength to you all, too!
          Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

September to Remember - Week 4

            Hi everybody,
I just love this thread and every MWOer on it!!

Just now able to check in - woke up and went to the computer and the key board was soaked - water everywhere. Can't figure out how that happened!!! Had to go buy another one - not cheap for a Mac keyboard - $75.00!!!

Lav - a belated congrats on 6 months!!! Keeping it all to yourself is good for you, but for me - I would be shouting it out!!!!! At least to my family and close friends who know about the wine-drinking issue I have. Most of them have it too!!! Anyway, you must be very proud and happy and feeling at peace with yourself!

Dill - hope you made it through you difficult sunday, stayed busy and AF. I shall take your lead and make a plan for myself!! I've got to! Seeing the doctor on thursday - maybe she can help me out with some meds, but am not necessarily counting on it. I think I will start taking L-glut and all the supplements again. Might help out alot. I keep saying I am going to bring out the CD's too, but haven't yet. I WILL DO THAT TONIGHT!!!

LBH - sounds like Lord LBH will be there to support you for October. Nice to have someone to back you up. My BF is rather an enabler and I have been so weak lately, I don't even fight it. Terrible!!!

Sooty - sounding good! Your aunt sounds great. I have an aunt who will be 102 yo in November. Not picking apples or anything, but still hanging on. She didn't even go into a home until shortly before her 100th birthday - lived on her own for years after my uncle died in the mid seventies. Some people are just amazing!

Went on a gorgeous hash run yesterday at a small town about an hour away, on the river. The trails were beautiful and the rain held off until the very end, It was so fun, but marked the first day in the change of weather. Today, it is super windy and cloudy and I had to dress quite warmly. Ah well - fall has to come at some time. I just turned the furnace on, as my nose is cold!! I have been working in my garden cleaning it out and have a collection of spaghetti squash, pumpkins, and onions, but left the carrots and beets in and will just cover the tomatoes until I really need to pick them all.

OK - off to make supper and bake a cake!!
Take care of yourselves out there!!

              Evening All,

Dill-I got my L-glutten in powder form. I couldn't find it at the store in pill form. I'll just give it a try and see how it goes.

Pnut-It sounds as if you're still enjoying your garden.

Well, I'm with Sooty and Dill and going to settle in for the evening. Night All.

Hi Peanut! I love thinking of you running all over the countryside and coming home and baking a cake (in your new oven...heavenly). My garden is going to bed in stages as well; Fall is on its certain path. Good show Dill on the plan. I followed along, started the supplements again today, and listened to a CD. I did not push myself after 4:00 PM as I have learned I pass some sort of tipping point and can’t stop my darn mind from racing in twelve part harmony. Hi also, Lil, Lav, and Sootie. I am not afraid of October with all of you around. Love, Ladybird.
                may we be well

September to Remember - Week 4

                  Good evening Septembers!
YAY, you're all still here - I'm so relieved!! At first I only saw week 3 and thought the thread had fizzled out...
LBH, I so relate to your description of limited internal resources. Good for you asking for support from Mr LBH, sounds like he'll come thru for you.
Lav - Big congrats on the 6 months!!! If you're not sharing it with family, I hope you've got your own rituals to celebrate.
Sooty, I agree with Dill that you and Mr Soots sound like the classic opposites attract scenario, of course producing perfect balance in all things, eh...
Dill, I'm not sure what was challenging about today or is it Sundays in general, but well done making it this far without incident.
I've had the most upsy downsy September and cannot wait to jump onboard Operation October - bring it on!! My departure has been delayed endlessly, but I finally get to go home on Wednesday. Woooohoooo!! My uncle's funeral on Friday was a lot harder than I had anticipated. It's as though there were echoes of my mom's passing. Then, just as I felt utterly alone in the world with nobody left to discuss family history with, this woman walked up to me saying she'd done a doubletake because I was the spitting image of my granny. It turns out she was a cousin of my mom's whom I've never met, and we spent a lovely 2 hours in intense conversation. I've been digging around the garden today digesting all this. Goodnight for now.

It is so good to hear from you Pam, what a time you have had, lonely, confounding, and emotionally rich all at once. Death is tricky. Now you are going to go home, and this thread will be here waiting for you. Love, Ladybird.

                      Evening Sept. friends,

Wow, such a busy place for a Sunday! Good to see though

LBH & Dill, I think you both had good plans for the day, tell us tomorrow how they worked out!
Lil, I have so many computers, laptops & printers in this house it isn't even funny trying to keep everything going............
Pnut, I don't know anything about MACS but I'm sure they are costly to keep going as well! Stay warm up there
Sooty, my grand dogs just left, it's 9 pm and I'm beat!! Yes, I'm happy to see them go home!
Pam, good to hear from you, I've been wondering about you!

Looks like it was a good weekend overall, I'm happy for everyone.
Let's stay strong for the beginning of Operation October - coming soon
                      Wishing everyone a good night.

September to Remember - Week 4

                        Good morning, Sept. friends!

Lav, my plan worked beautifully, thank you! And I am looking forward to today. Nothing special. Simply because I feel good.
Pamina, I am so glad you will be able to finally return home on Wednesday. You will be sitting pretty to start October with us on Thursday! I'm glad you hooked up with your Mom's cousin. It is a hard time when your family starts shrinking. I don't know what word can describe it. And about Sunday: it's just a day full of triggers for me now that the football season has started and the seasons are changing. I just need extra vigilence for awhile.
LBH, I look forward to October knowing I will share it with you and everyone on this thread.
Lil, I hope the l-glut works for you. Keep me posted. I will repeat that I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I had no interest in the desert. I never did get a craving for it! Of course, it could have just been a coincidence. Anyway, I'm going to do the l-glut 3 times a day and see what happens.
Pnut, are there spectators at these hash runs, or are you running solo? If there were spectators, I would love to have been one of them! I'm still exercising vicariously through you, so make sure you keep posting from time to time so I can stay fit!:H

Have a great day all, and all!

Well, unfortunately I have another Dental appt. this morning but what are you going to do? Suppose I'm happy to have teeth...........my avatar would look pretty stupid with no teeth, ha ha! The afternoon is set aside for babysitting, my favorite job

I'm certainly looking forward to a sober october - apart from one possible social thing when I may have a drink I'm planning on cracking the whole month!

                                Hi All,
Haven't posted much the last few days cos I've been ill with flu and today has been the 1st day I've been out of bed for more than 3 hours in the last 4 days. Weird thing is my docs surgery rang this morning to re-arrange my flu jab. I should have croaked you're a bit late.

Congrats on 6 months Lav. Brilliant. You're a real guiding light.

So sorry about your cat, Peanut. Pets are part of the family aren't they?

Looking on the bright side things can only get better.

Sooty, surely Mr Sooty should be called Sweep?
