    another newbie sayin' hi

    Welcome Janey
I, too, have a similar family history, many of which are already deceased.
May you have the best of all that you need to succeed - determination, love and support. You will certainly find help here, I am so thankful for this site. I am only day 2 (for the second time in 2 weeks).

      another newbie sayin' hi

      Hi, Janey!

I'm new here, too. This is my first posting. We have similar stories -- I'm 52 and like to have wine with dinner, and then some. I have a successful career, a nice house, am very healthy (except for drinking too much), and (people say) I look about 10 years younger than my age. So, I don't have too much to complain about. I have a family history of alcoholism but haven't developed any obvious problems -- yet. But, like you, I need to take steps to keep things from getting worse. Also, I need to make some changes in my life, and I know that alcohol is keeping me from doing what I need to do.

I've downloaded the book and bought some of the supplements (they do nothing for me), but haven't made a plan. I'm looking into joining the seven-day thread. Maybe that's a good place for both of us to start.

Thanks for joining -- you inspired me to finally post a message and join the group!

      Frannie
