    38 days

Well i have been AF for 38 days now, and feel great. that said i feel very edgy and anxious. i assume this is from withdraw, but it is really wearing on me. my demons seem to be jumping me more at night when i usually would drink. or maybe it is that football season is back, yet another time i used to drink. and why does it seem that there are a LOT of alcohol ads on tv and the radio these days. sorry about my rambling i am sure y'all know how that is.

Big fat pat on the back Soldier!!!
Congratulations! 38 days is nothing to sneeze at!

Yes, the demons do come out to play now and then, don't they? But, as long as you are aware and on your toes, you can tell 'em to f*ck off

Keep at it... Soldier.. you are doing splendid!

thanks for the kind words. i just keep thinking about how horrible i felt being hungover and having to go to work. or some of the insanely dumb things i used to do when i was drunk.

          Old Soldier, thats AMAZING!!
Adjusting to the sober life does have its moments doesnt it?
Would it help for you to write down how you felt and what you did when you were drinking and to compare them to how you are feeling now? Might help to clarify stuff a bit.
Keep going, practise really does help :-)

              Congrats old soldier well done.
I felt a bit antsy around the 30 day mark too, just realise those feelings will pass quickly and then you can enjoy your sober life again

                :goodjob: soldier,
                That's fantastic.

When I 1st went AF it was the start of the BBQ season and on my first foray out to the supermarket there where piles and piles of AL of every size, shape or form on the end of every aisle. The TV was full of by one get one frees. It drove me nuts.

I just came on here had a bit of a rant and then let it ride.

It was a bit like when my husband was on a diet everywhere he looked he felt as if someone was waving a chocolate cake or pies under his nose.

Keep the money in your pocket not put it in their's.

                Best of luck soldier.

                Love Jackie xxx

thanks you for the support and kind comments. it is difficult, and thankfully i have some meds to help out. I am going to start going to meetings here soon, because i realize the only way i am going to keep my demon in check is with support.
