      Operation October - week one

It was great to see so many turn out for Operation October! Strength in numbers! Welcome to newcomers, especially.

Well, day one is done. On to day two!

Chops, I'm glad to see you! It's been awhile, and I have missed you!

Sunni, I know September was a hard month for you, too, with some hard changes. You should feel so proud that you made it through AF!
      Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

          Operation October - week one

It warms my heart to see so many people here; I look very forward to learning about each and everybody so chime in often. Dill, thank you friend for launching the new month. Hello Lil (I know you will read this in a day or two) and, along with dear Lav, will be the cross posting bookends who anchor us. Sooty, Jackie, and Sunni are already helping our collective spirit. Chops, I am so glad you are here, I read and appreciated you long before I had the courage to join in. Pea, you had better stay right here no matter what, you have me completely intrigued. Pam, you are home in your London. You are very strong, funny, and smart, and I am glad that you now also get to breathe. I look forward to tomorrow (nice change from a few months back). Love, Ladybird.
          may we be well

            Count Me In!

I've never done anything like this, but I'm jumping in. This group sounds great. I read the book and used the tapes a couple years ago and was sober for 8 months. It was a great accomplishment, but I gradually went back to my 3 daily glasses of red wine. I'm tired of feeling like it owns me. Here goes . . . .

              :hello2:

              Hi teresa,

Jump right in. I did a fair bit of sober time at the beginning of the year and mistakenly thought I could have a couple of glasses of red wine a few times a week. Before I could turn around those 2 glasses turned into 2 bottles.

I don't know what's different this time, but coming here each day has made it a hell of a lot easier. It's been a godsend for me.

Look forward to getting to know you better.

              Don't be a stranger.

              Love Jackie xxx

It could be worse, I could be filing.

                            Operation October - week one

Wow!! What a fabulous big group we have here for october!!! Some new peeps and some returnees and the graduating September-ites!!! Wonderful!

I too am hoping for a successful month, but I have this weekend to get through yet. We have our annual Red Dress Run this weekend - where all us hash runner get dressed up in red dresses (boys too!!) and run around like a bunch of lunatics. There will be 3 beverage stops on this run, and I shall refrain from drinking (or at least, I will try my darndest!!) and then a bbq at my place. (I do hope it will stop raining by then!!!) So this is my challenge. Plus, my doctor visit was interesting - she won't prescribe Baclofen - not really surprised - but wants to try me on Zoloft because my OCD issues are pretty strong right now. Thus, the complusion to drink a bottle of wine every night and the obsessive thoughts about wine all day. Maybe the zoloft will help??? Along with the cd's and the fact that my BF is going to stop drinking as well - I have much more confidence this month!!

So happy friday everyone - I will try to check in on you all over the next couple days and see how you are all fairing - I wish you all the best!

                            I love you guys!!!
                            xoxo peanut

Chops lovely to see you - how are the dates going?
I can't hang around this evening, daughter home for weekend bringing with her ensuing chaos and washing! Lovely to see her though - and I have no intention of drinking.
Off to bed early cos meeting my friend in the gym early tomorrow morning.
Have a good friday evening everyone

Hi all - I'm going to give abstinence a try for October as well. I've never gone that long without the AL so not sure how it will go, but the boards have been a god-send so far!!
