    Operation October - week one

    Good Morning Octers,

JC-I hope you are fully recovered by the time you take your trip to Belfast. Do you have a long wait at the airport?

LHB-I loved your discription of your pansies. I'll be thinking about you and your pansies when I'm barried knee deep in snow.

Dill-I watch TV when I'm walking on the dreadmill. When I first started last year in March, I could only stay on it for 10 mins at a time and barely walk a mile. Now I can walk for an hour without stopping and go 31/2 miles. I wouldn't be able to do that if I hadn't stopped drinking. Do you think if I stopped smoking I could learn to fly? :H

Finding-I had been at MWO about 2 weeks and had started reconizing people by their avatar. Then there was a time when a lot of people changed their avatars and I was lost again! Stay close. We're here for you.

Lav-I know I'm probably cross posting with you right now. Either you or Dill. Good morning to you.

Hi to Pam, Pnut, Elton, Projedtile, Sooty. I hope you all have a great day.

My plans for the day include a visit to one of my brothers. He was in a bad accident a few months ago and even though he has recovered enough to go back to work, I haven't checked in on him since I've been home. I hope the Sun comes out for the drive.

I'm wishing everyone a great Sunday.

        Operation October - week one

        Good morning all!

An other hangover free day, woo hoo
Now, if I could just wake up & get in gear..........have lots to do!

Pnut, hope your red dress run was a success! Black fishnet stockings huh?????

Dill, did you dream about potatoes last night? I think I may have, ha ha - I love them

JC, I was so happy when I found this avatar - I think it looks more like me, don't you think

Hi red, glad you're here with us! I have made a habit of checking in at least twice per day to keep myself humble & focused. It has really helped me along too. I still use the CDs as well, they help smoothe out the rough edges. Stick with us, we have some tremendous strength happening this month

Well, have to go get the BD party together for Mr Lav.
Wishing everyone a wonderful AF Sunday!

            Operation October - week one

Hello all have you missed me cos I missed you!!! No problems this end just my daughter coming home for the weekend, which involved shopping, altering the things we bought (or rather I bought) and cooking so she could take stuff back to put in the new freezer ...
it was 11 p.m. when I sat down last night and I hadn't got the energy to turn the laptop on!!
I'm not complaining cos she's a fab kid and she's gone back now and already I'm missing her -
Operation October going well this end I'm glad to say. Hope everyone else had a good weekend and is having a relaxing sunday.

              Operation October - week one

Hi, Friends! I'm checking in kind of 'late' for me! I just got busy with little projects around here. I have a lot of little organization projects that need to be done. I am tackling some this weekend. It helps me feel 'untangled' internally when my home is organized to where I can find things!

I'll check back later. Have a great day, all!
              Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

                Operation October - week one

Welcome Red. The CDs help me a lot; I got hit with unease which could have turned into a runaway train yesterday and by the time I had finished listening my head was in a very different place. Dill, what is a potato Sunday? I bet I want one! There are wonderful harvest feasts at the pueblos throughout Northern New Mexico this time of year, beautiful squash and corn and people. The scent of pinon smoke and green chile. My fossil hunt yesterday was extended but successful and I purchased the perfect birthday present; now I need to gear up to fly with it a couple of thousand miles to the fellow?s very formal party next weekend. Many more challenges I am sure. Today, however, looks like a straightforward endeavor and I hope to work in the planting of fifty tall bronze mid season tulips. I love that they will be there happy under the cold, cold ground. Love, Ladybird.
                may we be well

Peanut ? the visuals for the red dress event are hilarious!

Dill ? Potato sundae??? What was the topping? I?m intrigued.

Thanks for the welcome JC ? I am very happy to be here.

Hi Red, I?m still waiting for the CDs to get here. I know they?ve helped a lot of folks, so I?m looking forward to them.

Hey Lil, I?m catching on. I read the boards for hours at a time, but I had to make myself post the first few days, it is becoming easier because it is becoming fun-ner. I've sat on the sideline of life for so long it's become a habit. But, it is getting easier for me to participate without the negative voice going on and on and on like it did when I would wake up hungover. So, progress there.

LadyBird, love the way you describe things with words!

                  Lavande ? morning early bird.

Hi Pam, Sooty, and all! Enjoy the day.

Yes, Peanut, pictures of the red dress/stocking toes are called for!

JC - expanding your horizons, how very exciting! When is the trip to Belfast?

Red - very impressive record for September, keep at it and keep posting.

Lil - hope you're having a good visit with your brother.

Sooty - have you packed an entire week's events into a weekend? Sounds like you need a rest.

Lav - what kind of birthday cake was it? Did you sing to him first thing in the morning?

Finding - that negative voice is the pits! I also lurked for weeks before posting, which did teach me a lot, but this is way more fun.

LBH - I am so intrigued by this fossil. What an unusual gift. Pictures...? Glad to hear the weekend rolled along smoothly.

Dill - The market was lovely, as always. Here, take a look: Borough Market | Home. It's regular veggie market stalls combined with delicacies from around the world. People complain it's too pricey, but I love getting just a sliver of the most divine Italian cheese or a cup of real Brazilian coffee or 10 marinated Greek olives - yummmmm. This time I fell for chocolate brownies, I don't normally, but hard times call for sweet measures, don't you think! Flour Power City Bakery

                      Operation October - week one

Cheers to you, Finding, for getting out of the periphery; I know how hard it is at first but now you can?t go back as we shall hunt you down and march you out of here with the rest of us. You are in exactly the right spot. Pam, I adore markets like yours and I am with you, purchase a small amount of things you can?t get anywhere else. When I stay in expensive cities I tend to opt for battered student apartments or shabby rooms and then shop in street markets for fabulous food, flowers, and a candle. Some old habits are worth keeping. Lord Bird Heart and I spent ten days in Paris a couple of years ago and found a wonderful open air one. We ate many of our fine meals in parks or by candlelight in the window of our little room with an ever changing view of the wild street below and somebody?s undies hanging out to dry in the window across the way. Very economical and fun all things considered. On another note, to answer your question, one can find fossils of all sorts at many gem and mineral shops. For sentimental reasons, I was looking for one that was ninety million years old but the closest I could get was one that is somewhere between 102-110 million. It is very pretty and the ancestor of a squid. I saw trilobites as old as 450 million (they look like pine cones) and a cocky little piece of meteor that claimed to be 4 billion. I didn?t trust him. Got my tulips planted ?Princes Irene? and now off to the grocery. Love, Ladybird.

A potato sundae is: buttered potatoes topped with sauerkaut, sour cream, shredded cheddar, with an olive on top!

Pam, thanks for the links. I think the Borough Market looks like a lovely place to visit!

I just woke up from a restorative afternoon nap and am now on my way out to get in a walk in the woods before the sun goes down.

So glad you are all here, Sooty, Lil, Lav, LBH, Peanut, Chops, Finding, SBetty, Sunni, ProV, JC, Red, EVERYONE!

My goodness, Dill, that sounds too yummy! Between that vision and your tales of apple dumplings, your regional food is clearly on my mind. Very glad you had a nap and a walk, a fine Sunday afternoon. Off the store, for real this time! Love, Ladybird.

Lav-How did your Bparty go? Was Mr. Lav surprised?

Sooty-You were missed. Glad to see you back. Now we don't have to send out the dogs looking for you. :H

Dill-A nap, walk in the woods and all organized to boot. You just rock girl!

LHB-I love tulips. They are the only flowers I can plant and they actually look like they are suppose to when they bloom.

Find-How was your Sunday? Stay close and hang in there. You can do this!

Pam-I loved your link to the market. It looks like a lovely place to spend an afternoon. A good cup of Brazilian coffee and a brownie sounds yummy.

Well, I'm just winding things down here for the evening. Wishing you all a peacefull night.

Still have more organizing to do, but I feel good about what I got done so far. I'd have gotten more done if I hadn't taken a break to go shopping and bake a pumpkin pie!

                              Lav, How'd the party go?

Ladybird, I am unable to stop wondering for what "sentimental reasons" you specifically wanted a fossil 90million years old. Very intriguing. I am not one to pry, so I'll just go on speculating....

Sooty, I'm glad you had a good time with your daughter!

                                Evening all!

The BD party went well! It wasn't a surprise or anything although it is almost a miracle getting everyone here at the same time The kids (and their spouses) are just like us - mostly shift workers, etc. so it's kind of hard assembling the group. I made an apple cake (real good, high fat, old recipe, yum). No, I didn't sing happy birthday - believe me it's better that way

Pam, the Borough Market looks great! Don't laugh but we watched Eastenders for many years & I always loved their market stall scenes. Unfortunately our PBS stations don't broadcast the show anymore. I still have a visit to London & beyond on my bucket list

Sounds like we all had a pretty successful Sunday. Who could ask for more??
Wishing eveyone a good night, see you in the AM.
