    alcoholic and looking into baclofen

    hi,
I'm 41 years old and been sober for 7 years, 1999-2006.
since then, i start drinking on a low level again (believed i have it under control), now i see my self going up in the alcohol consumption. now I'm by 1 bottle of red wine and 3 beers. or 9 beers, depending what is there...if there is a luck of intake...i bing my self with rum now...to get bedtime sleep...every day.
i did AA for years before...I'm back now on alcohol and read about baclofen from the book what i just bought "The end of of my Addiction".

I'm a heavy smoker too (since 18 years old) AND bite my nails to the point, where it bleeds (since I'm 14 year).

reading the book, i would like to try baclofen...that why I'm here

the question is for me, could baclofen, help with AL, with smoking and perhaps biting my nail...otherwise i'm ok *lol*

    Fets-:welcome:

I"ve never taken baclofen so I can't tell you anything about it. But if you go to the Forum page and scroll down, you will find a section on Topa, Camp and Baclofen. I think there is a thread there that discusses Baclofen. I know that there are other's who will be on here shortly to tell you more.

        Fets, welcome!!!

I am not advising you of anything, however, I know that Bac has helped me tremendously! I was on it for a couple months, and was running out so I had to wean myself off. Well, when I was on it, I could really see a difference! I was actually having AF days! Then, as I said, I was running out, and well, I am resorting to my old ways. I haven't had an AF day for almost a week.....I can feel the change for the worse in my body.

Read, read, read! Arm yourself with information! Read Dr. Ameisen's book, "The End of my Addiction". What a great book!

I, too, have presented information to my family dr. I faxed her info so she will be armed for my physical on the 27th.

I hope all goes well......keep me posted on your progress and feel free to PM me anytime.
