Moms/Dads at home Kids at school

    Hello,
Thought I would start a special interest thread for those of us in this category. For those of us tempted by the boredom and solitude of a gray day with regular chores, let's try to help each other. Anyone in a position like me?

Hi Tulipe, I have no kids, but I am at home at the moment (between jobs) and can easily get bored. Right now I am studying a course and also got involved in some volunteering. It really does help to get me out and about until I can find something permanent.

Hi tulipe, Great idea for a thread. I started drinking more with my kids and the boredom of everyday the same. Motherhood is hard and can be quite lonely and alot of the time boring. Mmy kids are mostly grown now but that was the start of it and years latter it increased to many days a week. I thought of it as my treat for a good days work.

hope your thread will reach some of the young moms and dads

All I can say is.. wow.

It's so easy for me to succumb during the week. He's at work all day and the kids aren't even here 'til the weekend. The television and the computer can only combat so much boredom..

                Hi Tulipe,
I am in a similar position, but from different angles, but I can share some of what you are talking about.
My wife is a teacher, leaving before 8, back at 6, I run a computer business, now from home, as I sold my premises 8 yrs ago to help out with twins when my wife was off.

My day is busy but because I can't focus, due to hangover, I put off going out to see customers, also in case they can smell al on me.

The real downpoint of my day is the dinnertime, I get dinner ready early but it the most depressing time of the day. 3 boys all want something different, my wife and myself eat later, me a lot later because I haven't finished the AL yet. Then too tired to stack the dishwasher, so that's left until tomorrow, then the dreary cycle goes on.

Anyway, despite that I had my first nigh al-free last night.
Just got them something quick, take it or leave it. I even stacked the dishwasher and woke up to a clean kitchen.
Same plan tonight, already bought the shopping, so I am not tempted later thisafternoon to pick some cider up.

                Good luck.
                Andrew.
