November Navs - hello! I'm still here, bumping along behind the boat clinging desperately to the life-saver. Which reminds me, you are all life-savers. I have been out of town, or so swamped, that I have gotten totally behind the group, but you have all been in my (waterproof) lifevest. Big changes need to occur in my work life so that I can take better care of myself, and concentrate on living AF. Lav - I think you said it a few weeks ago --the way to heal is to be GRATEFUL for the AF life, not to be feeling like you're missing out on anything. (Congrats on your AF time!!!) And today, I really do feel that way. Grateful for life, and Thankful for you all.
      Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

            Evening Navs!

The turkey transport went well, everything was good!
Sooty, my pumpkin pie was so good that even my grandson ate some :H
You have to give it a try - deeeelicious!

Chops, great to see you, come back & fill us in.......
SD, surely the green bean casserole tranfer went smoothly!?

Cyntree, I'll say it again - I am NOT missing a thing by going AF! I just enjoyed a calm, relaxed afternoon & shared a delicious meal with my son, DIL, grandson & his other grandparents & great grandmother. There were a few beers consumed by my husband & son - but that's it. Nothing was missing, I'll have no hangover tomorrow & I'll remember everything! I am happy & grateful, for sure

I googled 'action verbs' & came up with:
            1. Determined December
            2. Designated December
            3. Directed December
            4. Decided December
            5. Designed December or December Designers....

We have a few more days to decide.

Well, I'm stuffed, satisfied & just wanting to put my feet up a while.
Wishing everyone a peaceful evening :h

              Happy gobble-gobble day all!

Lav -- you rock! Congrats on your 8 months What a great day to have an anniversary on, huh?

Cyn -- great to see you!

Sooty & SD -- I had pumpkin pie pancakes this morning. First time ever and all I can say is yummy! It was like dessert for breakfast. Hope you had a terrific day.

LBH -- Thought of you today with your pink dreams when I saw a beautiful night sky.

Dill & Co (Finding, et al.) - Loved the poem! What a creative group we have here

Hi Red, Lil, MM, and 1morechance -- happy day to you gals!

And to all of those who were navigating November in weeks 1 through 3...thinking of you as well.

Hoping you all had a day of appreciation and being appreciated. Everyone at my small thanksgiving dinner away from home had a little something with AL to drink (very little, really..."normal drinking" - ONE glass). I took my own stuff for mocktails and had fun. Oh, and I am officially four weeks AF today. How 'bout them apples?

Sweetest pink dreams, friends. See you soon.

                  Hello Hello Everybody!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you down south! Hope you have a wonderful holiday. I love pumpkin pie, and I must say, I make a pretty darn good one!!

I've not been here in over a week I think! I have been absolutely swamped at work and no time to get on the computer, get home exhausted, tired at night and stuck in books and wordpuzzles and feeling like keeping low. Not the greatest success AF, but I am probably about 65-70% to the good, which isn't bad for me! Progress, right???? I'm still trying though, and getting lots of exercise as I am much more energetic when I don't drink and stay up late! Nothing new there, eh???? I don't think I could have made it through myy 8.5 hour, non-stop, no break work day today if I had been hung over!!

By the way - H1N1. Anybody get the vaccine? A woman at work convinced us all to go over to the Education Building on campus where there has been a two-day clinic. So, since I have been waffling about the whole issue, I finally decided to just do it. My arm is rather sore, and I just tried getting out for a run and had to cut it short (only 3 miles, my dog was pleased), as my stomach became upset and I had a very tight feeling in my chest and actually stopped a couple times, thinking I might get sick. Very strange!!! Plus a headache. Hey - maybe it is all in my head, eh? I shall have a hot bath and go to bed, and tomorrow will feel right as rain, and work my ass off again!!

So I've missed you all sooo much. I'm liking the December Darlins, SD!
So once again, enjoy your turkey and leftovers and pies and the start of Christmas shopping, all you USAers!

What a scene. Thanksgiving marathon coming to a successful close here and the host, LBH, is ready to be really small. Things turned out so well, it looked like a fairyland and the large array of leaves and candles on the table did not create an emergency. This is the first Thanksgiving I have not have not had a drink since I turned twenty-one, seven thousand and eighty-three years ago. All you Navvie Troops sound wonderful and it is my delight to come on here after a long day and find you or your echos. Great to hear from you Chops and Cyn and keep on piling up the months, Lav. It is fun picking a new name; I am too done in to think of much but perhaps I could throw Destination AF December or December AF Drumbeat into the mix and see if any ideas pop up. For now, Bon reve rose. Love, Ladybird.
                    may we be well

Hello everyone and didnt we do well? AF Thanksgiving and I had an AF daughter's birthday! We ROCK.
Peanut I've had the vaccine - my arm was sore for about a week and for about 2 days after the jab itself I felt really rough, not sick just completely wiped out and a bit "spaced out" fuzzy head, exhausted etc. Hope you feel better soon - better not go for a run for a couple of days would be my advice, your body is dealing with the (albeit mild dose) of the virus after all.
Re the name thing - I just love Double D's - made me smile that one did!!!
Anyway off to town in a min, do some dreaded Christmas shopping then meeting friend for lunch and then (joy of joys) I have to accompany Sweep to look at a new car - oh how I hate doing that sort of thing!
Have a good day everyone - I guess you're all on holiday today and eating leftovers?
                      See you later

I had a long post where I addressed everyone individually and lost it!!! Santa is sending me a new computer for Christmas.

It looks like we all had great AF Thanksgivings and Bdays. We rock!!!!

My company is still here so need to get busy.

Have a great AF Friday everyone.

PS-Black Friday describes Christmas frenzy shopping, so don't anyone get any "bad" thoughts.

                            Good Morning!!

Well...I didn't get up at 4am to do the Black Friday early shopping, however I'm picking up my mom at 9 and were heading out!! Get out the plastic!! :H
Peanut-I was suppose to get the h1N 1 shot on Wednesday and completely forgot to go get it...grrrr....so I suppose I will have to make an appt. They are advising everyone here to get it. I think it's for the best!! I haven't heard to many negatives from it...but like my dad said the negative of not having it could be death and that you won't heal from. He's kinda straight to the point....lol!!!
LBH-I like the Destination AF December as well!! There are lots of great ideas floating around...this could be a hard one!!!
Sooty--what kind of car are you lookin at...I was kinda thinkin about starting that adventure myself...it's been about 5 years now!! Although I LOVE my car!!!
Lil-Have fun with your company...don't you just hate when your computer craps out on you...I HATE it when I type a bunch of stuff and then ((poof)) it's gone!!! GRRRR.....
Lav--I used to do all my shopping online...but this year my credit card got 'stolen' online...so now in too scared!!! Which I know it was just a hoax of a website, but it still really freaked me out...and was such a huge mess!!!!
But....the stores and waiting in long lines awaits!!!!! FUN!!!!!
Happy AF Black Friday to everyone else who checks in this morning!!!!

                              Ahoy!

Sounds like many successes for Thanksgiving 2009! Yay! I went to bed af, too! SD, I'm sorry you had that rough patch a couple nights ago. I guess it's just gonna be like that sometimes for us! But I'm so glad you made it through! I'm proud of you, I really am. You know you seem like a daughter to me and I really am happy you have made this step for you and your son. But, as far as calling us the Double D's....Uh, well, see, I don't want to discourage any males from joining our group if any every wanted to, so I have to pass on that one!!!!:H

LBH, your Thanksgiving Feast sounds like it was fantastic. I'll bet Lord Birdheart was pleased. I like your December name suggestions.

Soots, You're probably out car shopping as I type. Let me know what you and Sweep buy. I'm just curious. I don't know what kinds of cars you guys have over in the UK. I don't know much about cars. I drive a 2005 gold Honda Accord. I love my car because it is small, but not too small and it has heated seats!

Lav, I'm glad you made it to your son's house without dropping the turkey!:goodjob: I actually did go out shopping early this morning, but wasn't too surprised that the laptop Walmart was advertising was sold out by the time I arrived at 7:00am. I kind of like just getting out into the frenzied atmosphere. I know it's perverse pleasure, but what can I say?!! The reward for accompanying Mr. Dill to the store was a breakfast out at Bob Evans.

Pnut, I hope you didn't become too ill after your flu shot. I have had several friends get it and have not complaints, but I had two friends that had bad reactions. I wonder if some of it has to do with the state of your immune system when you get it. I am not going to get it. I don't do the flu shot thing. So far, so good.

May we all be well today.
                              Dill

Good Morning All. Last night when overtired me was unable to sleep let alone dream in any color, my thoughts were turning and I remembered reading through bleary eyes, Lodestar quietly mentioning she hit thirty days. I had a little party for her in my head. Lodestar, you had a great time at my party and made a gracious and modest guest of honor. I love that you are here. Car shopping seems to be de rigueur today. Lord Bird Heart has decided that it is time to donate his brave Corolla, Alice, who has well over 200,000 miles to charity. He wants an electric car but as these options will be better in a few years, I am not sure what he will come home with. We buy vehicles so very rarely, it's a bit exciting. Have a great one, I love all the names flying around; means were still on. Love, Ladybird.
                                may we be well
