Help! Don't have much money...not your typical problem drinker! Single mom, respected in church and community. Full time student, two jobs...never enough money...one reason I drink! Only drink beer....not terribly much, about 2-6 a day...(but for me that's a tremendous amount). Got the Campral online. Seemed to help a lot at first, then back to drinking. I really want the CD, but can't afford it!!! PLEASE if anyone would be willing to let me buy a used hypno CD, I'd really appreciate it. I have the greatest two kids in the world and I MUST quit drinking! But, seems I'm so stressed, I MUST have that beer, also, as soon as possible after work or after school. 41 and want to be healthy again!! In mind, spirit and body...:thanks: :new:

HELP
Abby, I just wanted to try and see if anyone has been successful with the CD and anyone would be willing to sell it used....I just can't afford the 98$, yet can't afford to wake up to a beer in the am! I have two wonderful kids, am finally finishing my college degree, trying to work 60 hours a week and feel like I'm getting ready to 'blow it' because of my alcohol abuse....mostly drink because of stress, but sometimes I just can't help myself and I hate myself for it. Like today, I promise you I will stop and buy a six pack on the way home...even though I have dinner to cook, homework to do and will hate myself for it tomorrow. Why the need to 'escape' with the 'buzz' and trying to feel nothing is beyond me. I don't understand this addiction....I just need help period, I suppose with understanding and knowing there are others out there like me...who are 'closet' drinkers....
hope I've done a better job explaining....

HELP
Hi Jerri, And welcome. I've found that the L-Glutamine is very helpful with the cravings , I got mine at the local drug store(I live in a small town). L-Glut, is just an amino acid, but is definately helpful. Also the Kudzu' which you might have to get at a health food store(YOU CAN ORDER THEM HERE ONLINE...HERE. if ya have a credit card. . I always have to get Hubby's ...)Easier for me to just go to the store!
I make myself drink a glass of water in between each drink I allow myself. It's much better on your liver, and your checkbook! Plus it slows down the whole process! Ya end up spending more "quality time" alone!:H And water's cheap!
Good luck. & Welcome aboard! JudieThe only thing worth stealing is a kiss...:flower: zwink:

HELP
Hi Jerri,
I don't have the MWO cds but I've been listening to stop drinking MP3's from this place.
Hyphosis Downloads
I have reduce alcohol abuse, alcohol withdrawal, and stay stopped. They cost $8.95 each download (less if you buy 3) If you only get one then I'd go for the withdrawal one. Its very relaxfull and makes you feel good about yourself and quiting. Each session is just 20 mins long which I like as its easy to fit in. You can download and listen on the computer and/or burn to CD if you want. I think they also sell CDS.Suz
Happy to be sober since 07 Sept 09.

Having once been a starving, stressed-out single mom, I can relate!! Without wanting to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, I wonder if what you really could use is some support for your life stress!! I don't know if you have anything where you live, but I know in my area we have groups like "families in transition", "parents without partners", and stuff like that. Just a suggestion. It is soooo hard to juggle kids, school, dinner, finances, blah, blah, blah, and so, so, so, hard to do that alone. Reaching for the beer as a quick stress reducer seems like an easy (but obviously) unhealthy choice under the circumstances.
Anyway, just a thought. In the meantime, not suggesting you don't keep coming here in the least. Lots of great support, stress reduction tips, and terrific people!!! Keep coming back!!formerly known as bak310

HELP
For all of you who cared enough to respond, thank you!! I will take the advice of those of you who gave it. I am very active in the community, as it is a small one...as much as I can be working 60 hours a week, going to school 15 hours a week and raising two kids...But, we are close to our church and my son goes three times a week...just don't want anyone to know about this private struggle I'm going through. They wouldn't believe it anyway. Most people that live in this community are drinkers...they'd just laugh and tell me to have fun and not to worry. In comparison, I don't drink nearly as much as some, NEVER go out and drink, and don't get to the point my children see me 'drunk'. I'll go to bed before that! My kids COME FIRST....which is one reason it has been so hard to understand why this monkey has suddenly, in the last few years, jumped on my back and I cannot seem to shake him off!! This forum is a godsend....in every literal sense and has sent me lots of angels in many different ways. I DIDN'T HAVE ONE DRINK YESTERDAY, thanks to them, some in particular!! God Bless to all, different lives, different situations, all suffering from the same struggle....
