hey all! just a quick note to send love. I'm driving a van full of furniture (actually parked at the moment!) to a client's house, and then will unload. sorry that I can't be on longer. at least I figured out how to check in via phone... I'll come back later this aft, and hope to catch somebody. Otherwise, think of me looking at the same blue moon tonight as you all. I'm excited for this new sober year!!!

dill: Someone gave us a huge bottle of white zin for Xmas. and I remembered that that was what brought me to my knees last year.!! And I hate white zin. But I drank it. All of it.

Lavande: I look at it this way - if my overgrown spouse wants to eat he knows where the fridge is
ladybirdheart: I feel very pleased that we went "into Chat". My dinner is at seven. We rarely eat meat but I bought "prime" steak$$$$. Sometimes some bloody red meat brings me around.
lilmea: Does anyone else have cabage in NY day? I never heard of it till I came to Indiana

dill: I have cabbage NYD. Sposed to be good luck. Any New Year's resolutions (besides the obvious)?

Lavande: I cooked balck eyed peas once - they weren't very good
sdlovespackers: Our tradition is black eyed peas and cornbread for the first meal of the New Year...It's suppose to make you thankful for the rest of the meals all year long...or something like that?!?!?!

spedteach: I buy fresh ones in the summer and shell them. So yummy. Never have heard of the cabbage tradition.

ladybirdheart: I didn't see the one about canned beans; I was thinking how long the dry ones take.

dill: My New Year Resolution is to have fun whenever I can.
Lavande: my new years resolution is to forget 2009
ladybirdheart: It is really confusing to follow this I think I am replying to the wrong thing most of the time.
spedteach: I'm going to the midwest in February, Chicago and southern Michigan. Anyone live around there?

ladybirdheart: I had a really good 2009 all things considered, very complex though, over my head....
lilmea: My NYR is to get back to my excersise routine. A fraid it sort of got lost during all the holidays and things
Lavande: I've grown a WHOLE lot this year & I never shut up!!

Happy New Year. Hi, Lav, thanks for sticking around. Chat (my first anywhere but that probably went without saying) was too funny; I am really glad I overcame my bashfulness and joined in. I had a lovely meal for my friends tonight, no stress other than it is still so hard to prepare evening food without drinking as I am so very accustomed to fueling myself with booze while I cook. Oh well, I did it and got to fill in the last day of the tracker. I actually made it a ?calendar? month this time, first time since August. I could string thirty or so days together but drank in the middle of the month so my tracker always had a big bump in it, this time it is flat. I had no idea when I joined up that I could do this, none. I had not even had one day in a couple of decades. I feel the layers of prison peeling off, one by one. There are more than I knew about. My sense of ?new year? is really different than it was in the past as this time I actually think I have a chance to have a strong, free, and wide awake time of it. Love, Ladybird.
