                  I'm not sure. I've struggled; woken up angry at myself; went to AA with my father many years ago; how could this have caught up with me? Aren't I too old for this? I thought if I made it to my 50's I wouldn't be touched by alcoholism. Why now?

                      Hi Stevey,

                      I don't have any experience with Wellbutrin myself but I uderstand it has helped many people quit smoking.
                      The Hypnotherapy CDs are available from the Health store here on the MWO website. I don't know if they're available anywhere else. Take a look in the Health Store avove.

                      Congrats on your 10 AF days!

                        Here goes!

                        Well after many many many mornings of waking up and saying-that's it, I have to stop, this morning I woke up and googled stop drinking...and here I am! I registered, downloaded an ebook (Drinking-A Love Affair) and have read about 3 chapters that felt like I was looking in a mirror. It was so overwhelming that I did not want to drink wine tonight. And I ended up in my living room with my drinking neighbour, husband, and son's hockey coach, all having at least one glass of wine, and all i had was a few sips of my husband's glass. It's 8:40pm and so I'm past the craving stage, which starts around 4pm (or earlier if I'm working at home) and goes until about 8 (and will continue until bedtime if I'm already drinking).
                        I am not so naive to know that this was an easy night, and there will be many very difficult ones ahead....like tomorrow night as Mondays at work are always the worst...and I come home just dying for "a glass of wine"...which always ends up as a bottle. Glad to know I will have this support line.
                        Looking forward to waking up completely sober/not hung over:new: in the morning...for a change.
                        :new::new:

                          :welcome: Mimsy. You are not alone! I've read that book and I too felt like I was looking in the mirror. You might also want to download the My Way Out book from the Health Store here. Following the actual My Way Out program got me on the right path to get free of this demon.

                          Strength and hope to you,

                          DG

                            New here. Had been moderating and doing af days for a while now but overdid it last night. Total fear and loathing today. Thought maybe trying out boards would help.

                                Hey Talon, and welcome to you. Yep we all pretty much found this place by accident alright, best place to be, but then I'm biased. Try the thread 'newbies nest', it's where most of us started out posting, some longer than others, I posted there for over a year and still venture in from time to time. You'll get great support from loads of peeps in the same boat. And don't be afraid to venture onto other threads - everyone bar none, is kind and supportive when we start out, it's lovely to be able to share our trials and tribulations - and yes our successes, with others in the same situation
                                Keep posting and reading:welcome:
