Hi Sitting,
The first day is hard, but you see how great you will feel tomorrow.
Your appetite will come back to normal, so will the joy of eating food and feeling good. Hang in there.
It is worth it."If I lost confidence in myself, I have the Universe against me"

Hey Sitting. The good news is the worst physical stuff is over within a few days in most cases...then, of course, the mental game really begins (but cross that bridge when you get there). I began to hate booze because of how it made me feel but was so scared to stop and know that I had become dependent on it, because I felt crappy for a couple of days. If you haven't read the book, you might want to. It gave me hope and the download will be instantly available (and it's cheap and a quick read). Maybe that is a place to start? Nutritional supplements, any exercise you can handle, or just hang here with us.
Just focus on today. You don't have to do more than that right now.
Wishing you all the best.

:welcome:Hey Sitting, you're in for a good start. Someone once told him ( he was addicted to both alcohol and gambling) to learn to hate the stuff. Maybe it is a good idea to be honest with your wife - she's going to find out sooner or later, if she hasn't already. Her "lifestyle" change might be a hint for you. I know I thought that nobody knew the extend of my problem, but they knew.
Good luck, you can do it.make the least of the worst, and the most of the best - everyday.

Hello pretty and welcome.
Well done on deciding to stop! The rewards are astounding! For now, I agree that RJs book would be a good idea. It will educate you about the process and has good solid advice. Sorry you feel poorly. That goes with detox and may last a few days. To help with that you might try
eat small frequent healthy meals - not hungry? do it anyway
drink about 10 glasses of water preferably with fresh lemon squeezed in it to help detox
avoid caffeine - your nervous system will thank you
have some fruit, your body misses the alcohol which it processes like sugar
warm baths are nice
deep belly breathing
exercise
things you can take for the anxiety are passion flower, calms forte, try melatonin for sleep, L-theanine
take some nutritional supplements
Best wishes on your journey!sigpic
