A book that may help newcomers like me

For all of you that are just starting out like I am, there's a book I've been reading that had the most profound impact on my life. I started reading it in the bookstore and literally cried because it describes in words everything that I have ever felt and could never say. It's called Drinking: A Love Story, by Caroline Knapp.

I promise you this is the most eye-opening experience for what we are all going through. I highly recommend reading it and I hope it changes your life how it has changed mine.

I am still starting out, its extremely difficult, but I will keep posting because I'm receiving such strong support and it's already making me want to help others.

Thanks for the support everyone )

I agree about that book. It was difficult for me to read because it touched me so close to the heart, and so close to my truth with my drinking.

Getting honest with myself about the true depth of my problem was so important to getting my recovery underway.

I hope that book helps you and others realize just how much we are NOT alone, and how much hope there is for a better way to live.

Excellent book . I too read that in my early sobriety days. There are several good books out there that hit home in reference to alcoholic drinking. Welcome to MWO. This is a great place, you will see.
