    feeling positive

just found this site last nite. read loads of stuff.dont feel alone.went to bed feeling positive about this [maybe prematurely]. didnt sleep much of course, hadnt had knock out juice. only day 3. ive done this lots of times, its getting passed this hurdle that is problem. always find an excuse. need a drink because of probs, deserve a drink because ive been good, just have one drink today to take the edge off. what a load of crap. im not really convincing myself but it seems perfectly rational at the time. this time no excuses. ill come on here and get inspiration from all the posts and advice tools . thanks for being here.
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine
    Keep passing the open windows

    spuddleduck,
I'm going to every time I see your name.
It's not only day 3. It's :goodjob: on day 3.
Day 3 is the day I think everyone has gone through thinking 'I feel so well now. I'll just have a little drink'
Just remember how awful you'll feel on the morning of day 4.
Keep coming back and keep on posting.

Congrats on Day 3 Spuddleduck! :yougo: Oh boy do I know the thinking you describe... "I need a drink.." "I deserve a drink..." "just one drink...." (hahahahaha I don't think I've EVER had only one...)

Anyway, I now try to think of alcohol as poison. (because for me it IS poison!) It's not something I need OR deserve. And you don't need it or deserve it either!

Have a fabulous day uncovering more of AL's lies!!!

Congrats on your 3 AF days!!!

Now is a good time to look at your plan - find lots of healthy things to do to fill in your drinking time!
Choose something healthy for a reward since AL is no longer an option!!
I kept myself filled with delicious, flavorful herbal teas & a good cookie or two

Make it a great AF day!
