Day 1
I just want to introduce myself here and reach out for some advice. This is a new decision after realizing how pathetic my life has become. Its time to get on the wagon! So my immediate challenge is figuring out how to stay sober through a trip to Tampa I am taking in April. I used to live there and am visiting friends. I only just moved away approx 5 months ago. Any ideas on how to get through this?

Day 1
Hi Feline. Congrats on your choice to make a difference, you certianly came to a good place to do it. If I can just cut to the chase I'd suggest making your first order of business becoming alcohol free ASAP. If, for example, you could stop drinking today, you would have like a month of sobriety under your belt by the time you go back to Tampa. With that much time not drinking will be starting to feel pretty much normal and it'll be your best chance of staying sober while still enjoying your frineds company. There are also differnt supplements to help with cravings, so you could look into that. If you are truly interested in changing your relationship with alcohol then sooner or later you'll need to get used to social events based on something other than getting drunk, or even just having a few anyway. Good luck!

Day 1
Well Kudzu worked for me. You can add L-glutamine as well, it helps to take them together. Kudzu is extracted from the Kudzu plant, and L-Glutamine is an amino acid, so that s the all natural routine. If those don't work there are perscriptoion drugs available but I don't know anything about those.
Also you can get support here on this board which is invaluable, and not to be underestimated. Definatley read a lot, and don't be shy about posting!

Day 1
Welcome feline! Congratulations on making a step to get your life in order! Reading the book and getting AF soon as you can is a great idea. That can be a tough situation you're going to be in. But you've got time to arm yourself! This thread has some great tools to use for staying sober. https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html
April lwill be beatuiful weather and you could make plans to be with friends that involve an AF setting or activity like the beach, a walk in a nature preserve, that sort of thing.
First though, get the MWO book and arm yourself with RJs experience and knowledge and get started!sigpic
