    Starting the Program

I got my book last week and have been doing some reading and preparing. I got my supplements and CDs in today so tomorrow I will begin. I feel very positive that this will work for me and I am looking forward to it. :new:

    Hi Godschild, welcome :welcome:

You have got some great tools in your hands! Sounds like you have a very positive mental attitude - a good way to start.

Keep on coming back to the boards, especially if you are tired or stressed and may be craving. Just reading the posts will give you strength.

    Good luck!!

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. Here is my update for today. I started the day with the All One Powder, took the mid morning, lunch and midafternoon supplements as prescribed, listened to the cleansing one and two and loved them, I have never had a better time of meditation that I did today. I walked for twenty minutes, I drank lots of water, ate no sweets, plenty of veggies, whole wheat bread, lean meats, and fruit. I am going to take my evening supplements and listen to the "sleep learning" CD tonight. I feel good so far. I have been taking 25 mg of topomax for a while for migraine headaches but I am going to increase it along with the program as suggested. I do have side effects from the topamax so I started the supplements last week suggested in the MWO book to deal with those and they seem to be helping. I am also taking Lexapro since I have depression along with the topa but it manages that and I am off of alll pain meds since having neck surgery 4 weeks ago. So far so good.

                    Hi godschild & carolep,

Welcome to MWO, this is a good place!
The MWO book explains the program & it's components. If you haven't already you can downoad it from the Health Store.

Taking back control of your life is the best decision! I am nearly 1 year AF now, life is so much better
It is hard work but with a good plan & a strong commitment you can do it too!

Please feel free to drop in the Newbies Nest thread & say hello. Lots of people there just getting started as well.

                    Wishing you both the best!

Welcome Carolep and Clearlynow! As everyone says this IS a good place.
Clearlynow, I'm not here very long but a lot of the 'oldbies' recommend trying for 30 days AF to clear the booze out of your system even if you eventually intend to moderate. Believe you me we would ALL love to moderate but for lots of folks it just isn't possible so good luck you may be one of the lucky ones.
Carolep, some people do have trouble with the ethos in AA I haven't tried that route and for so many it is literally a life-saver, everyone is different and this is certainly a wonderful alternative/addition to the AA programme
Good luck everyone and 'have a nice (AF) day'!!:welcome:

                        :welcome:
I'm new also, Day 3 and feeling SO HOPEFUL! Yhe book has become my bible and the Kudzu and other supplements seem to be working. I was drinking heavily, every day for the last couple months. To be AF free for going on 3 days is a miracle for me. This site is my go-to-place, morning and night for support, hope, and strength. Good luck and looking forward to your progress.:h
