Yeah plenty of us here from Ireland, don't know much about support systems or anything, I just went to my GP and he was super, started me with antabuse and mild tranquillisers which I took for a couple of weeks and now don't.
Good luck with everything, this place is pretty good support, keep posting

The weekly AA thread on this site might be worth a look too, if your worried about the religious aspect. There are plenty of folk on that thread who have various belief system's, and not just God, and still find something from AA that they can use.
