Today is a very important day in my life

It will determine whether I worry about losing everything or not. It will determine the character of the country in which I live. It WILL define my future. Not only will it determine my future, but it will save 45,000 people from dying every year needlessly, so it IS a BIG deal. I think beyond my own selfish interests. All of it should be over by 1 a.m. my time and there is nothing more I can do that I haven't done.

Anyway, feel like drinking. I feel this way when things are important and beyond my control. Can anyone relate?

I feel EXACTLY the same way as you do about the Health Care Bill. And yes, in the past the whole process would have driven me to drunkenness, but I am so determined to stay sober forever, that it hasn't even crossed my mind to drink this time.

Just stay strong and think positive thoughts--and above all: DON'T DRINK!

Anotherday ,I agree with you. The United States needs too start taking care of it's people. People are dying at this very moment because of no health insurance. It is unexceptable to me. I love our country but this part has got to change.

Anotherday, I can relate but focus on how out of control you will be if you drink.

I am very much aware of how you feel AD. i sell insurance and am all too aware of what happens to people daily - people who HAVE insurance . . . .it's awful. I work a lot on behalf of my clients trying to be an advocate for them & don't always win - always having to be careful 'how far I go' in the event that I can lose my livelihood - the private companies can take away my ability to represent them if I go 'too far' on behalf of the client. So, I do know what you speak of. I am not watching. I believe this will pass, but am so sorry that it got so watered down & does not do more. It is a start though & we will have the ability to go back & modify things as we go, just as we do with all large legislation in this country. Nothing huge happens overnight, but everything starts somewhere. I have to have faith that we will start. So, I too want to drink, but not for this reason, just pretty much because I've been bored all weekend due to snow etc. . . . . (but, I won't) Turn the channel - Im watching Sleeless in Seattle . . . much nicer!

I am still watching. This is pins and needles for me. I so hope our elected officiials have a heart. I've actually said a prayer, and not just for me, to make this happen. We're the richest country on the planet so should make it happen. Thanks all!

I cannot walk away SOBS. I've been this way since 16, before anyone even knew what it meant to be in favor of socialized medicine. All I can do is to try to maintain. Thanks!

Until I see a good synopsis of the reform bill, I have no idea if I am in favor or opposed. Anyone got an accurate link to what is in the bill? I work with government and know they are idiots so I really hate to see them involved in anything else but am open to persuasion.
