you should be able to find it somewhere and pull it in the form of a .pdf. I think I got it off a NY Times site, but can't swear to it. It's 153 pages long.

The problem with this bill is that it will just reward the insurance companies with x million more subscribers. Plus, I don't think there's anything in it to prevent insurance companies from raising the premiums for those with pre-existing conditions. If there's not a public option, I don't see what good it's going to do.

Correct you are fennel - - I have to look at it more closely, but it seems unsustainable in its current form and what I'm hoping is that this in particular will be fixed once the premiums go sky high. Then FINALLY health care cost containment will become the crux of the argument which is where everything should have started in the first place. It's just a backward way to get there. I think we'll get there, it will just be painful . . . .Some insurance companies may actually decide to limit their offerings too since they will not be able to 'pick & choose' - it will be too expensive for them to have the array of plans they have today & there will be no advantage to doing so from a marketing perspective if they have to take everyone anyway.

It will be interesting to see what effect that will actually have in the end. I personally wanted a public option, but big pharma & Insurance spend the most money on lobbying efforts for both parties, so there you have your answer as to why it isn't in there.

WA is certainly NOT listening to the voice of Americans if the House passes this legislation. I agree that health care is f'ed up but the will of the American people should not be defied. I do not have the answers but I know bigger government, more taxes, and more debt is not the answer, esp. with the back room deals embedded in the deal. Shame on Congress. America is about to be disgraced.

Ha! Nancy Pelosi (an embarrassment to CA) keeps using the word "imagine"- this is basic sales 101. Again, I agree the current health system is totally f'ed up and unsustainable. I just don't like gov as the fix it person because they fuck everything up even more. And it is all so vague. I have great sadness for USA.

We're about to join every other industrialized nation in providing health care to their citizens.

Why do so many doctors want to get out of medical practice if this is such a great deal? People from all over the world come to America to get health because it has been superior. Not any more. This is a disaster. The PEOPLE should have voted on this.

I think in the end this will all be adjusted to become what we want it to be. That's how all of our major legislation in the past has worked - it's been the basis of how our democracy has survived. Not perfect and yes, the larger changes have been painful and fought over, but in the end have proven to be what we've identified as things that have made us a progressive, thoughtful nation. So, I have faith it will all work out even though I wish certain things had been very different about it. Meanwhile, I'll go back to watching "undercover boss" - my new favorite show!!! Just great!

I think the health reforms seem a good idea, but then I don't live in that country and I know I might feel differently if I did. We have a very different healthcare system in NZ, and while people grizzle about it, I don't think they know how good we have it.

Anotherday, America has to take care of its people better, but you have to take care of you. I haven't actually heard the outcome yet, but whatever it is getting drunk won't change it.
