      Awesome post.

Wish this was here when I first joined. Really helpfull. I too wasn't quite sure wher and when to post, what on earth this ODAT thread ARMY thread, etc. was. You find your way around eventually. But this is a great jump start for anyone!!

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

When I first came, I thought the ARMY thread was for people in the military, so never looked at it. :H

What's really funny is I am just finding out where the main page of forums are and I've been here 2 months! If you start at mywayout.org and click on our community it will take you to the main page where all the forums are and so much more information! Click on a forum and you will see so many threads under each and you can also make a thread (write something or ask something) under any forum by clicking on new thread and posting your feelings, ideas, questions, etc. This is truly a great place to start. We know you will all love this site, as it has been a lifeline to me and there are so many wonderful people here on the same journey...getting sober and staying sober. We all love and want to help you and one another! The chat room is a great place to go, especially if you are discouraged or want to drink. I go there every night, instead of drinking. We have to change our lives and our routines. If you fall, we are all ready to catch you or bandage you up so you can start again. Never get discouraged, because no one decides they are not going to drink again and just stops without a few mistakes and starting over. Just focus on today and not drinking alcohol TODAY! Love to all!
I'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
but I'm sure not who I used to be!

There is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still.

I'm new here. I've been reading postings for about two weeks now. I hear so many successful stories then I hear sorrow. I continue to read the posting but yet I am afraid that this program may not work for me. I am so tired of the drinking. At this point in my life I want to be AF. This is my first day sober. It was really challenging for me today but I made it this far. What I'm going to do is pray a lot and take one day at a time. I'm really tired of allowing alcohol control my life. I have to believe in myself and let it go. I said I would like to be a moderate drinking but the way I feel now I don't think that's a good ideal to evern try to be moderate.

Welcome, Tina B. Hope you find some good pointers on this thread. Yes, occasionally you'll see the really dark side of AL here; it's the nature of the beast. But hope, support, and help are much more common, so keep coming here, find a place you feel comfortable, and ask for help. We're here for you!

                      Hi
Thanks for that, Yes, I think Im one who's posting things all over the place, but im slowly getting used to the site. Hate to say it I drank last night, but it was ok and didnt get blotto. Today im not going to drink and I have ordered some Baclofen and went to see an alcohol advisor yesterday. My attitude is starting to shift but i dont expext it to happen immediatly.
Thanks to everyone for the advice and words of kindness, its making a difference!

errrrm how do I do that then

molly, a spam is some person/company who joins the site just to advertise their product. They usually just make one post at the end of an old thread. Keep an eye on their signature. There was one the other day promoting wedding dresses. Do not click on it.
