    What's your Sobriety Plan?

    Another great thread ? here is my first attempt! This is a great idea?

    ? Read MWO threads before getting out of bed in am.
    ? Get out of bed and acknowledge how good I feel and how different it feels without AL night before
    ? Eat good nutritious food ? have breakfast!
    ? Take supplements
    ? Sing on way to work as I am not hung-over
    ? Improve self image ? lose weight, pamper a little (pedicures, lotion etc)
    ? Gym ? continue with trainer until I have a good routine
    ? Walk ? enjoy the outdoors
    ? Get finances in control
    ? Spend a little of the money saved from AL on treats for ME! ? flowers, books, lotions
    ? Acknowledge witching hour ? when alone, watch all the TV programs that I have missed; when I have girls, enjoy them! When struggling post on MWO
    ? Have AF drinks for the day and different ones for normal AF time (avoid feeling of depravation ? ginger ale, or tonic with lime for 5pm ? 9pm only)
    ? Early to bed ? use calm forte to encourage good sleep patterns
    ? Weekends ? do something, have a plan ? even little plans, but something that makes me feel good ? farmers market, walk, relax etc
    ? Acknowledge success ? do not dwell on failures
    ? Focus on what works, not what doesn?t
    ? Have something to look forward to ? something in the close future, but a carrot on a stick.
    ? When struggling ? read old posts and great threads to reassure myself that others have achieved this so I can too!

        What's your Sobriety Plan?

        Doggy,

        I read this post before logging out as I'm on my way to work. This is a truly inspiring post and just want I need as I am back to day 1 AF after slipping up in March and April (was AF for most of January and all of February...made it about 70 days until a vacation screwed things up for me and I slipped back to my old ways). Since today is day 1 for me I am going to keep it simple. Before I got out of bed this morning (after realizing that TODAY is the day I stop drinking and that tomorrow morning when I wake up I will be feeling great, not hungover), I told myself that I am not leaving the house this morning until I get back on MWO and post my current situation (which I did on Newbies Nest a few moments ago), then I am going to have a decent breakfast and get back to my low-carb diet which worked really well for me at the beginning of the year (scrambled eggs anyone?), then I'm going to take a nice hot shower and think about all the negativity from AL being washed down the drain. I'm going to spend a bit more time getting ready for work this morning and may actuallly do something more to my hair than throw it back in a ponytail. Work will be busy today because we have a big delivery and there is always lots to do on Mondays. It is going to be a good day. I will eat a healthy lunch and not skip it because I won't be saving my calories for wine. I won't be going to the liquor store on my lunch break to buy an evenings worth of wine, instead, I will go to the library to get some books on gardening since that is my new passion in life. I will leave work and come home and have dinner right away so there is no lingering about the kitchen thinking about wine. My husband will be at the gym and so tonight I will have my dinner earlier than him and when he gets home and settled, he can have his dinner and I can have a cup of tea and we can catch up together on our day. I will check in on MWO to let you all know how my day was and to see how you all are doing. I will read up on my gardening books and maybe have another cup of tea or some sparkling water with lemon. I will get to bed without the room spinning and will sleep peacefully. End of Day 1, phew! Looking forward to every minute!

        Have a great day everyone and thanks again for this inspiring post. I already feel more confident about making it through today without AL.

          I love your plan, and also your screen name!!! I love all the positives - seeking info on a passion during lunch, doing something nice with your hair, etc. You are treating yourself like the sober, fabulous person you deserve to be!!!!!

            What's your Sobriety Plan?

            Stuck to my plan yesterday and feel great about it today. Got some great gardening books at the library, but forgot them at work so I will bring them home tonight. Read up on some other stuff last night and it was lovely to read and actually remember what I read this morning! I wish everyone luck with their plan for today!

              What's your Sobriety Plan?

              Only found this thread today. It is brilliant. I planned my early recovery, now I have personal work to do to continue living a sober life and it will take effort and commitment. Plenty of of ideas and inspiration here. Thank you DG and everyone else.

                    What's your Sobriety Plan?

                    Grreat Thread/Call to Action

                    Thanks DG for pushing

                    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                    1~ Upon awakening drink 1 liter of water. Walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes. Stretch for 15 minutes. Enjoy a high protein breakfast including supplements. Meditate 15-20 minutes. Shower and start my day reflecting on how living AF is improving my life.
                    2~Go for a walk in the woods or a bike ride time permitting. While out think of all the things in life to be thankful for and how I can improve my own life spiritually. Think of how I may offer help to others.
                    3~The inevitable drive to work. Listen to music and do breathing exercises while driving.
                    4~While at work do not allow trivial matters to affect me negatively. Keep a positive attitude and do my job as I always have, striving to be the best I can. Forgive others who have not come to realize how their attitudes and actions affect the entire workplace.
                    5~Be sure to plan my meals ahead as well as carry supplements with me so that I may maintain a healthy diet that will aid me in my ability to remain free of alcohol.
                    6~Choose with whom or where I spend my free time wisely. “Bad associations spoil useful habits.” (1 Corinthians 15:33)
                    7
                    ~Seek to remove bad habits starting with my number one offending giant~ PROCRASTINATION~. Everyday be aware of any and all bad habits and seek to remove them from my life. Start a list of these and work to eliminate energy draining habits gradually.
                    8
                    ~Balance. Make living a balanced life my priority while maintaining sobriety.
                    9
                    ~ Read and meditate on what I read.
                    10
                    ~Get adequate sleep to allow my body & mind to be healthy. A strong body and a happy/healthy mind will be my reward for the efforts I place forth.
                    11
                    ~Place living AF at the top of my list. Whenever things look bleak remember this.
                                This is a fantastic thread DG -
                                Useful to anyone just starting out
                                Or for positive affirmation a little way in
                                I also think if everyone followed the points on your plan not directly related to AL, the world would be a better place.
