Welcome, welcome.:welcome: Glad that you have joined us. I am only familiar with Topamax. It has really helped me. I am currently taking 200 mg/day and it has really helped. My Doctor also game me Lorazapam for the anxiety.
Have you checked out the 'Topamax, Campral, Naltrexone, Baclofen, other meds' Section? There a lot of posts in that section with a lot of helpful information about the different medications.
Take care & I'm sure you will get some helpful information from this wonderful group of people."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Hi Lucy,
Welcome to MWO! Glad you joined for the trip. I just wanted to wish you well. We're all in the same boat here. As Nora said, checking out the "meds" section is probably a good idea. There are a lot of posts on different supplements, meds, etc. Keep reading and posting.AF since 15th March 2010
The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

Hi lucy, it was nice to meet you in chat last night! I have no experience with meds but I just wanted to say hello and offer support in general to your journey to reclaim your life! Make sure you are very well hydrated and eat frequent small healthy meals. Try to get outside for some exercise. You might try meditation, yoga, a relaxing warm bubble bath. Take on a physical activity to distract your mind. Clean out a closet, wash the car, the dog, or something like that. Also, look over this thread https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html And this one https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...lan-41280.html Keep at it!!sigpic

Hi lucy,
Welcome to MWO, this is a good place!
I have no experience with meds either. Many people here use L-Glutamine & Kudzu for help with cravings. You can buy them OTC. I used the Hypnotherapy CDs to help me work through the anxiety, they were very helpful. Lots of people have downloaded mediation help from places like You Tube.
Please feel free to drop in the Newbies Nest thread for some support too!
Wishing you the best on your journey!

Meds
I am just now on soem of the natural supps-- I took topamax for migraines before I ever had al issues-- it was great when I took it for that the first time-- post baby it did not work as well-- but it had a ton of benefits for me in that area and it seems it has really helped alot of folks here. I am considering bac-- I took Benzos for anxiety unrelated to Al-- they mostly made me tired but when you are sleeping you generally do not ruminate with the drink think as I call it. I was told by the doc they can be addictive so maybe some others would work better (non-addicitive)
This site has greatly helped my anxiety and the anxiety is less over time too-- hte first few days with no AL were just hell-- not the physical part but the worry and all that jazz. Good luck!
