        Well done Katie. All we can do in this life is the "next right thing" and then let those things outside of our control (like what our exes do) run their course. Just think of how much stronger you will be in your sobriety when the time comes to go back. You will be moving forward with your life and that will just make you stronger.

              Hi Katie...
              I don't know your back story, but your exe's behavior in court is demonstrating to the magistrate that he has little control of his temper and is disrespectful. These things will only serve to bolster your case and tear his down. Good for you for maintaining your cool...:goodjob:

                    Katie this is great news - love the part where his sister run out of court, bet she had nowhere to hide!!! Like everyone else sorry you have to go through it again but stay strong your almost there and its pretty obvious your ex has lost plot!! :l

                      Katie, this pictures of your face tell more than ex can possibly come up with. You are strong, and you have so many here who care. Too many women can't or won't follow up like you are, so you are helping more people than yourself. I hope you get a chance to speak to LadyJan on here; she went through horrible abuse before she found the strength to prosecute him.

                        Thank you all so much,
                        When he couldn't get the case adjourned and we had 3 hour recess.. he sent me verbally abusive texts and voicemails blaming me! saying "i hope you are happy" etc.. like its my fault he beat me up? its crazy.. he is such an idiot.. im so angry and upset with him to today.. he is the reason I am having to go through all this as he won't plead guilty for something he so obviously did.. I also enjoyed the fact his sister came out crying.. sounds sick i know but she was one of the one's that didn't believe me, adamant he didnt do it.. yes, I have a history of self-harm but there is no way i could have done those injuries to myself.. and i didn't even get a psych review when i was in hospital.. i had not been depressed for 6 months prior to the assault happening.. he is doing everything he can to get out of it! i just want justice!! i will be so upset if he gets away with it.. thanks again all,

                            Hi, Katie, I am new, but I sure know my way around a courtroom. I am quite sure that the judge was annoyed by your ex's behavior. Judges don't like it when people don't have a lawyer and aren't prepared to move forward. You are going through a personal "trial," sounds like you have the worst part of the relationship behind you. Be strong!

                              My ex will have lawyers next time.. in fact he's had lawyers all along, of which i thought his rich grandma was paying for.. but turns out they owed the lawyers money yesterday and thats why he was unrepresented and tried to get it adjourned.. it went ahead anyway but due to all the time-wasting (his mum was supposed to be a "witness" even though she lives 800km away and wasnt there..) - his mum disappeared when her name was called.. which I think she did on purpose to delay the proceedings.. next time he will have the lawyers paid for and i think his rich grandma and his lawyers are going to try and get it heard in the supreme court with only me as a witness.. he is trying to get the policeman's account to be thrown out.. i dont know how he can do this but i know some lawyers are very good at manipulating the law and i am scared they will find a way to do this.. and he is trying to say i was mentally ill at the time, which was not true.. i am so afraid his lawyers will work out a way to get him off the charges and not let the police say their piece or use the photos.. :upset:
