Hi there
Congratulations on making it this far. That's as far as I've made it so far, but I asked the same question about Day 6. It seems to affect people differently, but it takes a while to get the poison out of your system - some feel better after a week and others still don't feel great after a month. Maybe this is why so many of us fall down about this time. Just think how glad your liver must be. :goodjob: Keep going. Looking toward an AF April.

Hey well done and welcome!!!
Look people are different. But i'm on 16 days AF now and things are starting to go a bit more solid for me. Cravings off course but am slowly starting to feel healthier a bit better. Just hang in there. If the trend continous as it does for me now it can only end in feeling fantastic.
1 week is a great achievement!! Just keep on motoring now!!AF since 15th March 2010
The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

Well done on 7AF days - fantastic keep it going :h Your body will be detoxing thats where the headaches and tiredness comes from. I started to take vitamins last week - Milk Thistle and Vitamin B which I think are helping me. I'm still tired in the mornings but I now get some bouts of energy come afternoon and evening. I have been AF on and off for 5 weeks now (had a couple of slips sorry to say!!) and my mind and body are definately starting to feel the benefits. Hang on in there it sure gets better :goodjob:Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Hey Want, great job on the 7 days af, high five! You should really be proud of yourself. I am sorry that you are feeling so crappy, but it is worth it. Battle through, and fight the urges. Keep adding up those days, one at a time. For me the headaches did lesson after the first week for sure. Hang in there,

Hi want2live,
Welcome to MWO! This is a good place!
Congrats on your 7 AF days, great jub
Have you read the MWO book yet? If not you can download it right here from the Health Store. It's full of useful info to help you get to feeling better very soon. When I first started someone told me to treat myself as if I had the flu. Drinks lots of water & tea for hydration, rest, good food, a little fresh air, etc. You will feel better very soon!
Take this time to make yourself a good plan to help you stay AF. Look in the https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html for good ideas to help you make your plan.
Please feel free to drop in the Newbies Nest thread for some support!
Best wishes on your journey,

Thanks guys. I am starting day8. I am off work today, we are closed on Tuesdays. I slept til noon. I dont think my husband is to impressed with my lack of ambition (tiredness) this week. We are in the process of remodeling and I am trying to hang in there all I can but I am so tired and do not feel well. I hope better feelings are coming soon. No wonder I havent done this before. My mind keeps saying I'd rather have deal with hangovers. I can drink them away again, and again, and again.

Congrats~
Johnny & Panno did what I did, Vit B & Milk Thistle as well as Magnesium (helps the nervous system). I detoxed once at the hospital & the Dr's ordered magnesium. You can take an epsom salt bath (it draws toxins away from the body & has magnesium).
Each person is different. I know that when I stopped vodka-it took over a week. Beer, a few days. Wine, I'd be sick for days.
Best of luck.
Peace.
