    I do I don't

    Hi

Home from work and hubby is fighting the urge for a drink. Yeah I could really drink a nice glass of wine, it most likely would not stop there. The urge not to is stronger and I really don't need it.

Spend a few moments here and do a bit of reading.

Thanx MWO and it's members for being here when I need you.

Feeling a bit that way myself so a big glass of iced water, an L-glut and coming here is my answer right now.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Fine now 4MyHealth, thank you for asking.
We can learn to ride the cravings out as they can go as fast as they arrive most of the time.

Quit Quitting, maybe start a new habit when you get home at the end of the day, like drinking a couple of cups of "Sleepy Time" tea. It might take the edge of your day.
              Take care of yourself.

Hi Quit Quiting, congrats on getting through your urge. One thing I learned here from several people is the concept of urge surfing. In case you haven't discussed it, I will give you a quick briefing. (This concept really helped me through my first month).

An urge, can be thought of like a wave. Waves come in different sizes, strengths, and last short and long periods. They pass, and so will your urge. Just knowing this, and thinking about this concept, somehow chopped away at my urges.

                Keep up the good work,
                Hill

                  Hi all

I did not do it - Yeah.

Thanx for all your encouragement. Everytime I see myself in a mirror I tell myself I do not drink anymore. I go to sleep with that thought and try to wake up with it.

Thanx Hill for the wave thought - like that.

Runningwind I have taken up Pokemon on my DS and look forward to a Mug of hot chocolate.

Coming to the end of day 4 and will be back on the rung of my ladder I reached last week. Weekend is on us and have a party Sat Eve. Get through that and Should be ok for the next week.

Thanx again you are all great.

If you absolutely have to go to the party Saturday be sure you have a good plan in place.
Know ahead of time what you are going to drink, how you will handle questions about your not drinking, etc.
Congrats on your 4 AF days - good work
