I think it's not just the alcohol but the need to mop it up that put the weight on me. An alcohol tummy in the morning needs carbs. I could lose 10 pounds and looking forward to losing some in the month of May.

Im on day 6 and on a diet as well!.I put on about 20 pounds in the last few years due to drinking and eating while i drink.Im terrible for getting the munchies whilst i drink.I would literally eat my way through a bottle of wine.So now that im not drinking i hope to cut out the alcohol calories and the calories that went with it.

I put on 40# drinking and snacking in one year! Been on low carb diet and AF 32 days and only lost 5#. Taking all supplements and vitamins, L-glut, etc.
Years ago in AA they told us to eat sweets. Now can see that's not a good plan.
OH well, eventually it has to come off.
Wouldn't you just think the # would fall off though!:upset:

I am encouraged to hear that most of you lost weight when going AF. I am on Day 3 AF, and this morning I was in an AA meeting where ALL the women except one were overweight, and most of the men too! Yikes! Also, i remember when I went to a rehab for 28 days, 4 years ago, I gained weight there. But they were feeding us 3 big meals and snacks all day, without much chance to exercise - so I think that was the main problem. :-)
